Hibs loan round-up: Campbell on target, Martin clean sheet, winning start for Shanley
With the resumption of football in Scotland’s third and fourth tiers, a number of Hibs loanees were back in action this weekend. Here’s a quick round-up of how the Easter Road representatives fared.

Jack Brydon – Stenhousemuir
The young defender, who spent time on loan at Lowland League side Civil Service Strollers in the first half of the season, was not named in Davie Irons’ matchday squad.

Josh Campbell – Edinburgh City
Midfielder Campbell capped his and the Citizens’ return to action with a goal after just three minutes as the Capital side beat Elgin City 2-1 at Borough Briggs. He now has six goals and three assists from 16 games in all competitions.

Jayden Fairley – Stenhousemuir
Fairley was an unused substitute in Stenny’s 2-0 win against Albion Rovers.

Jamie Gullan – Raith Rovers
"Hammer” featured at left midfield for the Stark’s Park side in their 1-1 draw at Ayr United.

Tom James – Salford City
Full-back was a second-half substitute for Salford as they went down 2-0 away to Cheltenham – his first appearance since February 9.

Stevie Mallan – Yeni Malatyaspor
Mallan replaced Afriyie Acquah for the last 13 minutes of Yeni Malatyaspor’s 2-2 draw with Gaziantep.

Paddy Martin – Stenhousemuir
‘Keeper kept a clean sheet as the Warriors posted a 2-0 win against Albion Rovers in their first game back.

Stephen McGinn – Greenock Morton
Midfielder played the full 90 minutes at Cappielow as the hosts defeated Queen of the South 2-1.

Fraser Murray – Dunfermline Athletic
Murray played the full 90 minutes as the Pars suffered a 1-0 home defeat by Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Innes Murray – Alloa Athletic
The midfielder played an hour of the Wasps' 3-0 loss to Dundee at Recreation Park.

Ryan Shanley – Finn Harps
Shanley came on for loan side Finn Harps in the 57th minute of their impressive 1-0 victory over Bohemians in Ballybofey. The young striker had a penalty shout turned down shortly after entering the action and with Harps having a few players facing spells on the sidelines the Hibs loanee could be in with a chance of a starting berth for this week’s trip to Dundalk.

Scott Allan, Ryan Shanley, and Jamie Gullan all enjoyed winning weekends with their loan clubs

Scott Allan – Inverness Caledonian Thistle
The playmaker was a second-half substitute for the Caley Jags as they won 1-0 at home to Arbroath, playing 35 minutes of the second period.

Jack Brydon – Stenhousemuir
The defender was not named in Davie Irons’ matchday squad for the defeat by Edinburgh City.

Josh Campbell – Edinburgh City
Campbell missed the Citizens’ back-to-back wins against Albion Rovers and Stenhousemuir.

Jayden Fairley – Stenhousemuir
Fairley came off the bench for the last nine minutes of Stenny’s 3-1 loss at Ainslie Park against Edinburgh City.

Jamie Gullan – Raith Rovers
The forward was a 65th minute replacement for Gozie Ugwu in Raith’s home match with Morton and the on-loan Hibee netted the only goal of the game on 82 minutes to secure all three points for the Stark’s Park outfit.

Tom James – Salford City
Welshman was not involved as Salford lost 1-0 at Exeter City.

Stevie Mallan – Yeni Malatyaspor
Mallan wasn’t in action for the Turkish side owing to the international break.

Paddy Martin – Stenhousemuir
‘Keeper made some good stops but was powerless to prevent Edinburgh City recording a 3-1 win against the Warriors.

Stephen McGinn – Greenock Morton
McGinn played the full 90 minutes as Morton succumbed to a 1-0 defeat in Kirkcaldy, with Easter Road colleague Jamie Gullan scoring the winner for Raith.

Fraser Murray – Dunfermline Athletic
Murray was involved as the Pars got off to a dream start against Dundee at Dens Park with two goals in the opening six minutes but Stevie Crawford’s side ended up losing 3-2.

Innes Murray – Alloa Athletic
The other Murray was an unused substitute as Alloa drew 2-2 at home to Ayr United.

Ryan Shanley – Finn Harps
Shanley made his second appearance for Ollie Horgan’s side, again off the bench in the second half, as Finn Harps recorded an impressive 2-1 win at Dundalk. Harps are now top of the league wit

Defender played in the 1-0 win against Cowdenbeath and 3-1 defeat by Queen’s Park.

Josh Campbell – Edinburgh City
Two full games for the midfielder as he lined up against Annan Athletic in a 1-1 draw at Ainslie Park last midweek, and Stranraer in a 1-0 win at Stair Park over the weekend.

No reserve or youth leagues so they need to be playing.

I'd say Yeats, Shanley, Fairley, Brydon and Possibly Campbell are decent prospects needing games. Allen obviously needing games. 2 or 3 will probably be away next season and the older youngsters maybe last chance saloon time.

Seen Fraser Murray only got 15 mins or so, would say overall the loan prob didn’t work out as Hibs hoped, he is in and out the team and not started as much as we would have hoped, would be interesting to see what the summer holds

Has Scott Allan been starting many games at ICT?

He has. Think he played 8 games. Played 70 minutes initially and built up to playing full games.
He didn't rip up any trees but did start every game and did fine.
Importantly he will have settled any doubts in his own head about his ability to play.
The only question now is whether he can play up to the standard required for a top 6 team next season.
I have my doubts but he would be a good substitute for games like yesterday where we are battering our head against a brick wall.
He will be 30 in 6 months time and has one season left on his contract so next season is a big one for him.
