What has Glass been doing all this time. Seems like he's been living in the shadows. Suddenly he could be the White Curly Wool Lover's manager....??

Been in the States. Not that experienced as manager though. Might work, might not.

Team: Atlanta United FC
Teams coached: Atlanta United FC (Caretaker manager, 2020–2020), Atlanta United 2

I would have went for Alex neil.

But hope it doesn’t out work for them

And Dave Cormack just happens to be based in Atlanta.

I'd be raging if I was a Dons fan. Looks a really lazy appointment.

Think he’s in charge of Atlanta Utd 2, so not even their first team. Like Atlanta reserves.

His record isn’t that great with them either.

I’d be seriously underwhelmed by that appointment if I was a dons fan. Sincerely hope it doesn’t work out.

he's very well thought of over there, and they are a team with a very good set up I'm more surprised he's swapping a life over there for Aberdeen.

could go both ways for him I liked him as a player for so I wish him as well as one can for a direct rival...one spot lower than us would be fine.

Fair enough.

I liked him as a player too, seems a good guy.

Appointed
Suits Hibs I think.
Will he start bringing lots of guys across from the states to fill his squad up in the summer?
If so will they hack it?

Was a brilliant player for us, lead by example, strikes me as someone who would be a good manager.

Hopefully does okay for them but not too well, 4th every season behind us please and some exciting football, would rather see them in Europe every year than a provincial club like St Johnstone or Livingston, much more likely to get results and help the coefficient aswell as them improving their playing style would help improve the excitement levels in the league.

Am I the only one who wants to see him fail as long as he’s at Aberdeen?

**** Aberdeen & wishing him luck as their manager

Hope he and they fail miserably as a direct rival.

It's a gamble. Could go horribly wrong. I hope it does. Hopefully they get that relegation they escaped twice through default.

I wouldn't be happy with that appointment if it were Hibs, getting Scott Brown as a player/assistant is good for them but will only be a temporary boost

I guess you're a Glass half emptied kind of guy...

If Glass turns out to be a balloon they'll be shot of him scooner or later.

Don’t know about brilliant. He was a good player for Hibs, rarely brilliant.

I was a bit disappointed in him in all honesty.

I was expecting a superstar when we brought him back up the road, he was decent at times and I’m not saying he was a bad signing, I just don’t think he lived up to my probably unrealistic expectations.

That’s maybe my fault, not his though.

Yeah, it was a massive signing for us at the time. Steady, if unspectacular player for Hibs

Brilliant goal against Aberdeen I think it was. A good older head to compliment some of the young players we had at the time. Thought he was alright, nothing more nothing less.

That was fantastic, brilliant late strike, wildly celebrated.

Also remember him scoring at Fir Park and running across to The Glass Man sign in the corner.

I wonder if this is all part of the financial arrangements between the two clubs.

Same here, huge gamble from them and if it doesn't work could set them back years. Neil would be a great appointment.

Perhaps he does a year at Aberdeen and then goes back to the top job at Atlanta.

Folk said Hecky set us back years. A year later we're 3rd for the first time in 16 years. You are never more than a few decent signings from top 5 in Scotland.

Folk that say that would be wrong imo. I agree with your last sentence to a degree.

Gordon Smith, Lawrie Reilly, Joe Baker and Pat Stanton were brilliant players for us.
Stephen Glass was ok in my opinion, a bit of a softie but quite cultured.

Glass managed the B team of a club that paid Hearts six figures for Jake Mulraney. Bit of perspective.

Every reason for us to be on the ball and not fall to a sucker punch.
