I think I've only ever said a few words to Paul, to be honest, and he came across well. I worked beside his mum for a short while and she's a lovely woman, so I would imagine Paul's a good guy too.

Lewis has been first class whenever I've spoken to him I honestly couldn't speak highly enough of him.

I think I've only ever said a few words to Paul, to be honest, and he came across well. I worked beside his mum for a short while and she's a lovely woman, so I would imagine Paul's a good guy too.

Lewis has been first class whenever I've spoken to him I honestly couldn't speak highly enough of him.

I remember bumping into Lewis before a pre-season game at Dunfermline a year or so back. I asked him to get a photo with my boy before I realised he was with his son too, I immediately apologised as I don’t like stopping players when they’re with their family. He couldn’t have been nicer about it though and he just got his boy into the photo with my laddie too.

I know it’s not the most exciting of stories but it’s wee things like that that go a long way I think. My boy still mentions how nice he was to him that day even if the meeting only lasted about 30 seconds.

Obviously I don’t know him well but he just seems like a really good guy, was delighted to hear there that he plans to get into youth coaching as I can tell he will be excellent at that.

He's had a load of interactions with Josh before, I won't go into them but he's gone out of his way to help Josh out with a few things without thinking about it.

Not many footballers are proper role models, despite the tag that they get given. Lewis certainly is one.

I was once on a train to Kirkcaldy and Lewis, aged maybe 15 or so was standing in the door bit just across from me - I clocked him because of his Hibs trackie. An older guy struck up a conversation with him. He didn't know Lewis but he did know various people in football (mainly SFA community coaches and the like IIRC). Anyway, I listened in and remember thinking that Lewis was probably the nicest teenage laddie in the world. He doesn't seem to have changed much.

I get why you’re saying that but I hope he’s out helping other kids, not just the elite ones at Hibs.

I hear Danny Swansons training for kids is absolutely superb with his new academy. I’d like to see Lewis do something similar.

For what it's worth, I lost track of Darren McCormack in the news after the Calum Elliot punch / assault and wasn't setting Lewis up to fail with that question.

Anyone know what became of the attempted murder charge?

I do remember, like Lewis said, that he was very highly regarded, captained the national side at the younger age groups and most folk thought he was going to be someone we’d base our team around. I thought he was tremendous defender but then the disciplinary stories started coming out, I think he had an injury and didn’t seem to feature again.

I'm the same as John, didn't really know the story about McCormack, just remembered him being highly rated at one point, like a lot of young guys that come through.

I would dearly love to claim it as a nod to the genius of Vic and Bob, but sadly it was Craig who came up with it, after struggling with the Doig/Doidge dilemma, it was a spur of the moment thing.

I was impressed with how quickly Lewis took it on board though. :agree:
