For the first time I can remember I am of the opinion that we need to set ourselves up for six draws. I think third is ours to lose. If we get another 2pts it is game over.

Do you remember a certain game at Rugby Park under Neil Lennon? BTW 1 win in 6 is 3 pts

If we get into the later stages of a game and it is level on goals then that may be a decent tactic but definitely not from the beginning of the game. We are third on merit and Ross has done very well to make sure we haven't had any long spells without picking up points. If that continues we will be third, no need to change things. Remember three of the teams we play after the split are currently below us in the league.

10 men behind the ball and attempt to stop the other scoring for 90 minutes. Simple until there's a goal.

6- 4 - 0
or least that's how a 'top' manager  turned political pundit would tell it.

Hardly - we have a team that abounds with attacking players - use them and we will amass points.

While I don’t agree, you would set up not to concede.

Just about every team would set up for a draw away from home in the European competitions, even against poorer sides and then hope to tuck them away at home.
Liverpooll were particularly good at it, iirc.
I remember Hibs managed a 1-0 away win against FC Besa which was hailed as a terrific result, given that a draw would have been adequate.
We beat them 7-1 at Easter Road so we could probably have been more cavalier in Albania.
A couple of seasons later, we beat Rosenborg 3-2 away and wet the bed when they scored first at ER. We should have relaxed because we ended up winning 12-3 on aggregate! 😁

Tony Mowbray once set up the team after 70 minutes to deliberately lose the last game of the season v Old Rangers when Hibs went 0:1 down.
No more goals were conceded and Hibs as a result then comfortably qualified for Europe and if thats what it takes this season then I hope Jack Ross does exactly the same.

To be fair, there’s a slight difference with that as Rangers didn’t need to score either, so neither team even played football that day. If the other team need a result then it’s far more risky.

It was 1-1 in Besa. A diplomatic draw by all accounts the 7-1 was the first leg

You're right. Memory playing tricks.
The Rosenberg game was away first, I'm sure. (Less sure than I was before your correction, right enough! 😁).

A well earned point. Even if we didn't play for a draw a very useful point indeed as games start to run out.
