I received a letter from them about postal voting, rather disturbingly there was an Indyref2 propaganda leaflet from the SNP inside. Anyone have any idea why the LVJB are promoting this stuff?

It can't be from the VJB. Is it not from the SNP? They are sending out letters and forms asking people to register for postal voting.

The letter I received about postal voting was from the SNP and enclosed LVJB forms to register for postal voting, dunno why the SNP are promoting the LVJB, I'm a staunch voter in person, I don't need their propaganda about postal voting

The address on the return envelope is to LVJB headquarters 17a South Gyle Crescent.
But I think you're right, it's from the SNP encouraging people to vote by post, also to print forms for family and friends.
As a previous member of the SNP party I used to get all the stuff through the post, I've since changed address so I wonder how the party machine got my new address.

Bloody Government, trying to save money by putting 2 letters in the one envelope.
Is my vaccine appointment in there as well?
I've elevated this to an omnishambles now.

How much money do you think they spent sending every address in Scotland a letter?

I flagged up a potential GDPR issue to my SNP MP a year or two ago and never heard a peep back. The SNP send out all of their membership information in envelopes plastered with "SNP" and "IMPORTANT MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION CONTAINTED WITHIN"
I argued that the membership of a political party is considered sensitive personal information (there is no argument, it is). They should not be disclosing my political affiliations along with my name and address that can be seen by all.

I don't think they should be encouraging people to print out forms for family and friends either, but hey ho, I'm sure it's all above board.

If it encourages more people to vote by post, that has to be a good thing, no?

If you ever get a reply the envelope'll probably have apparent bias in it.

Interesting one this. I often get letters from, say, my mortgage lender with similar words on the envelope. I can understand why they do that, so that I don't just bin it. Would you put those kind of letters in the same "sensitive personal" category?

Those shielding during the Pandemic have been advised to vote by post. A letter was sent out by the SG advising so. Keeping people safe...what next.:greengrin

I don't think it would be as things like political affiliation, membership of a trade union and medical information is all considered to be more sensitive data than a bank statement or mortgage renewal, etc.
Plus you would now that your data had been breached as the envelope would need to be bee opened in order to access the data.
My issue is with the fact that my membership of a political party is out on display, smack bang in the middle of the envelope.

My wife and I got the same letters.
Finally after years of nagging my wife to download the forms, get them filled in and send them off its happening. No thanks to her!

That's an appalling slur on AC-H, and my constipation.
The leaflet is on recycled paper. When I called them out last time about the waste of resources, their answer was "but it's all done on recycled paper". Seriously.
