View Full Version : Lafferty signs for Kilmarnock

A decent move by Kilmarnock if he still has some ability.

Might just about keep them above Hamilton and Ross Co

Tommy Wright obviously not convinced by the current striking options and recognises they are needing help.

Danger is he is not fit enough or is over the hill

Don't like him. Don't rate him.

Hope he's stopped that pathetic robotic thing he was known for (might never see it anyway if he's as big a crock as he's supposed to be).

Huge gamble from them. He won’t be cheap and they’ll be chucking money at him to keep them up. Hope it fails miserably.

He will be cheap, can't see him having many options, and it's only until the end of the season.

Killie desperate for goals to save their season, Lafferty on the back of a load of big contracts, he won’t be going there for next to nothing. He doesn’t need options since Northern Ireland don’t have finals to look forward to.

I can only remember 3 things about him

- feigning injury against Aberdeen to get Charlie Mulgrew sent off
- mouthing off about owning a bentley
- signing for hearts

Can’t say I’m delighted to see him back in Scotland

Was alright back in the day, I’m glad he’s not playing for us. I hope Ross County finish above Killie.

Not a bad goalscorer, think Killie have done alright there.

hateful prick though. With far more than a whiff of bigotry about him. Was delighted when he went to hearts instead of us. Wouldn’t want that stench anywhere near Easter road.

Lafferty has never been very prolific at club level, apart from at H****s, and has only scored 4 goals since his last SPFL stint. I'd be quite happy to see Killie relegated on the back of this signing.

Who to dislike the most?
1. Laugh At Ye
2. Kamberi
3. More or Less

1-3-2 for me.
Kamberi is a sleakit sticky sheep but has to rank below the other two just 'cos he did some good things for us, even if he did then f*** it all up with his attitude and comments.
Mind, if the ranking was who do you least want to see scoring against us he'd be my No.1.

I’m not saying he’s prolific, however when a team is in dire straights and their options are limited, they’re desperate and they’re in no position to bargain.

10 goals since July 18. I'm not sure he's better than what they have.

He’s far better than what they have (very little, Kabamba and Oakley), whether that is good enough to save them is another matter.

Not something big or clever to be joking about or slating someone for. Not a nice illness and destroys millions of lives. But a valid point though nevertheless, regardless of context, George Best was a waster, an alcoholic but always worthy of discussion on here, whether idolised or not. Andy Gorams colourful life is another as is the most recent Peter Marinellos past shenannigans

Lafferty is a classless prick

Classless or not, even bringing up someone’s gambling addiction when talking about them in a negative context is out of order.

As a gambler that’s probably *****ed away close to a half million quid over the decades, I see no problem with what the lad said. I don’t hide behind the illness line. The buck starts and ends with me, I’m responsible for my own actions.

So was he out of contract then? When's the last time he played a game.

In his first spell at Rangers he scored 31 goals in 104 apps. Id fancy myself to score more than that if it wasn't the fact I have an allergy to bigotry and Im more suited to watching the game than playing it.

Scored 107 goals in nearly 400 games, considering at least one domineering team he played for thats not too brilliant. Take the hun thing away, not impressed by him at all. Made a good living for himself with not much talent. Killie are getting desperate arent they. Relegation possibles next season if not this.

Respect for that, however it still shouldn’t be shoved in your face at every opportunity. Whether he’s an ******** or in the public eye, his addiction is his, and it isn’t big or clever to bring up in conversation about what he’s well known for.

I know two well and they both hate the huns. Always been welcomed down Rugby Park. Remember their fans wishing us well after we put them out the cup with the late McManus goal and congratulating us after beating them in 2007 LC final.

As a NI fan, I would have loved to have seen him at Hibs - he always did his best work in green, almost single handedly got NI to the Euros in 2016 with his goals during the campaign

And his 21/05/2016 tattoo actually refers to the day he got married, nothing else

You NI fans are absolutely entitled to love Lafferty.

Given that he's a big Hun, his tattoo is quite ironic. Nothing wrong with NI fans lauding Lafferty. I just dont see him being a Hibs player ever.

In the end there were Hearts fans who disliked him for pushing a move through to Rangers. A few I know thought he wasn’t that good either.

I think his best return was across the road. He's not what I'd call prolific but Killie are struggling and in freefall. His gambling issues caused trouble at PBS. Wonder if his wife has given him his mobile phone back yet?

With Tommy Wright and Lafferty now at Killie, the Hun tattoo count in the Rugby Park dressing room has had a significant boost !

He’s a gamble as it just depends if he’s in the mood. Very similar to Kamberi in that he can be really good for a couple of games then drifts out of the next few. Killie looked good versus well but no end product. Looking very tight down the bottom and he’ll need to score four or five to keep them away from 11th. It changes every week but from St Johnstone down they are all in the mix. Will be a cracking bottom six this year, such a shame there’s nobody to see it. Hamilton to escape yet again. Wouldn’t bet against it. As long as we take care of them next Saturday of course.
