Electronics and gadgets that you can't live without

Pretty simple one.

My phone is one - I often give my partner a lift to her work, to appointments and the like and the phone has become the perfect time wasting device when I'm waiting on her. Music, podcasts, games, audiobooks. On a training course with business, never alone with a phone.

In the kitchen, a mini chopper. Don't have space for a full sized food processor but regularly make soups and one mini chopper worth is one bowl worth in the end, but also pastes, mayo - use it for so many thing and much more convenient to use than a food processor.

What other ones could we add to the list?

Food processor. I got one for Christmas and don't know how I lived without it. It came with a mini chopper as well so best of both worlds.

A phone goes without saying these days. I remember at school teachers saying 'you aren't going to walk around with a dictionary/calculator/instruction manual in your pocket when you are an adult'. Well actually.......

Digital probe thermometer. You can cook meat just perfectly and accurately, know it's safe but not risk overcooking.

It probably goes without saying but computers in general. Having started off 35+ years ago on a drawing board, I now spend the majority of my working day using different drafting & graphics software.

Getting through the workload that I have would be absolutely unimaginable without IT.

My Kindle, music streaming hifi and smart TV. They've allowed me to get rid of hundreds of books, CDs and DVDs cluttering up my house. I'm particularly fond of my kindle, always at hand for when I find a few quiet minutes to myself.

Although I could well live without it, I’ve fallen in love with my sous-vide cooker which my daughter gave for my birthday last year. I’d seen the ‘chefy’ guys using them on the telly and thought it was a bit ‘meh’ but for cooking the perfect steak and any meat or fish, it’s fantastic.

I know I'm a bit auld for it, but my games console (mine's a PS4). So much more fun than watching telly.

Agreed. It’s ridiculous how easy it is now to delve into artist after artist at a click of a few touch screen buttons. The amount of artists I’ve listened to several albums by just through liking other people and then searching for their pals, or stumbling across musicians in the same genre is amazing.

Part of me would like to live back in a day where you had to get hold of a record to discover new music... but the pace in which my breadth of favourite artists grows now just wouldn’t be possible.

A Garmin watch or equivalent.

Strava is great for recording runs but for drilling down into detail the GPS watches are amazing. On the top end models you can store music and pisdcasts, access maps and even the basic model can monitor heart rate and cadence and the like.

Cd Player - IPod (I still miss my iPod classic) - phone (for music). Technology changes but music wherever I am is probably the big one for me i couldn’t live without.

I watched a programme the other night with Ben Fogle and a guy called Mark Boyle who has decided to live life without money and technology.

I must admit that after a pretty ****ty day of Teams meetings and IT issues it seemed bliss.

The reality is probably another thing but would be good to try going off grid for a month or two. Need to be summer mind you!

One I only thought of today is my camera. When in a bad mood I like to take it to the nearby woods and get photos of squirrels, birds and the like. Clears the head.

My Xbox and my phone are the main ones, but fibre broadband is another, not sure if that counts as a gadget though.

For stuff thats in daily use apart from phone & laptop.....My nutribullet & Magimix....And headphones Audio-Technica ATH-M50 XBT for decent weather & home..Jabra 75ts for crappy weather & running.
