Hibs now have an engine in our midfield with the addition of Irvine & Cadden.
This was the advantage Aberdeen had over Hibs and the reason I thought they would finish 3rd to our 4th.
Importantly both players were brought in at the start of the window and are now up to speed for todays game.
As a result Aberdeen no longer have an advantage in midfield.
Additionally they have now lost the very good game changer Hedges for the rest of the season.

We all know Aberdeen have lost their whole front line in the window.
They have lost Cosgrove, Wright, Main, Edmundson and Anderson.
They have been replaced by
Hornby who before he arrived at Aberdeen had played only 28 minutes of football this season and played only a handful of games last season. Basically a kid with very little experience of mens football
Hendry, another young guy who was 4th choice striker at St Johnstone
Kamberi, inconsistent but the best of their new strikers but not available today

In conclusion we have now equalised their midfield quality and they have lost experienced good quality strikers and replaced them with two kids and Kamberi which doesn't even closely match up to Nisbet, Doidge and Boyle
It is insanity on Aberdeen and Cormack's part and will hand 3rd place to Hibs this season.
We are favourites to win today for the first time this season against Aberdeen

Half Time.
What a difference having legs in midfield.
The missing factor in the jigsaw since we lost McGinn.
More than the equal of the Aberden midfield today.

Fingers crossed one of the vital missing pieces, Irvine, isn't badly injured.
Him and Murphy are vital to Boyle getting ammunition.

Totally agree CM what a difference both players have made to the balance of the team. I have never felt more positive after today about holding on to third spot. Darren Macgregor has also made a difference coming in and there are very few shots getting through to Rocky as well.I think we are better prepared to take care of Livingston and Aberdeen after the split now. It all seems to be going much better for us now that we are playing a steady formation. There should be more smiles and positivity across our supporters. Fair play to Jack Ross he appears to be getting most decisions right recently and confidence in him should be increasing. All in all not a bad time to be a Hibby.
