I remember the Sun saying we were after Eric Cantona’s wee brother Joel with he classic headline ‘Hibs Go For Kid Cantona’

Not a rumour so apologies in advance, but I loved the deadline day a few years back which involved the 3 part transfer between Dundee, Celtic and Us, whereby we got Scott Allan, Bain went to Celtic and Murray went to Dundee.

Pretty sure Hibs were playing that night, as well as Celtic, and it was just hilarious seeing pictures of Dundee player Scott Bain turn up at Celtic park, in a Hibs tracksuit, to sign for them 😂

What concerns/amuses me is how grown men fall out and bicker over utterly inconsequential things viz., whether Assombalonga is having a medical East Mains or whether Danny Handling is handing in a transfer request.

No doubt friendships will be made/broken/tested in this year's transfer Fred.

I simply do not understand the concerted effort that must go into LARPing as a football forum ITK.

Literal grown men playing pretend and every major football team's forum has them.

I did see a cracking article about it written by a Man U fan of all folx, although this was a teenage laddie who fooled several broadsheet newspapers:

I thought I had made that rumour up in my head. I remember spending about £80 on club call one month as I was sure I had heard them say something about Papin so kept on calling back - different days! I think my folks were relieved and surprised it was a Hibs hotline I had been calling.

IIRC it was early 2000's(ish) - pretty sure he'd been emptied from Celtic a few years earlier. Around Bobby Williamson's time at ER if I was guessing but I don't think i was on Hibs.net at the time.

It was certainly a rumour going around ER, my Uncle is a big Celtic fan and I'm sure he told me at the time that we'd definitely interviewed Dalgleish about the managers job.
