If anyone is in touch with him would you please apologise to him on my behalf. I'm about to praise him in public and that's my equivalent of the commentator's curse!

I've been increasingly impressed with Jackson since he arrived and today's overall performance was his best yet. I was already thinking that Hibs would struggle to keep him after the summer, when he crowned his afternoon with the superb through ball to Boyle.

He's keen to get involved, he contributes at both ends of the pitch, he seems to communicate well and he's a leader in the middle. I think he's the best player at Easter Road just now.

As I said, sorry Jackson!

Fortunately, you've got his names the wrong way round so we should be fine ;)

Aye, but somewhere in the world there's a bar mitzvah going very badly.

Didn’t see today but from the little I’ve seen if him he’s exactly what our midfield has been missing for the last 2 or 3 years. Hopefully we can get him to stay and then build the midfield around him.

Fair point. Fill your boots. It's a once in a generation opportunity.

Obviously been listening to Longbangers too much lol

My fear is that Jackson will get fully up to speed by the end of his time and will be plucked from us by another team

He played well today, all over the park and his pass for Boyle's second was up there with Scott Allan.

Looks like he is enjoying himself to be honest.

His value is rising, over to you Ron.

Jackson Irvine has been excellent. Would love to get him on mong term deal and build team around him

Irvine is the type of midfielder we have been needing all season. He works hard off the ball and wins it back. He also has quality on the ball. We need to stick with Irvine and Gogic in centre mid from now on.

Newell should be straight back into the team when fit.

I don't think gogic needs to start every week. He's effective at what he does but pretty poor on the ball

I’d agree with this 100%
He reminds of McGinlay Pat, think he’ll chip in with a few goals too

Can’t wait to see him playing when he’s match fit

Noticed he doesn’t have an agent, maybe wants to be in charge of his own destiny
Seems to love Scotland, does he have relatives up here

Staking a claim for the Allan Scott role with through balls like that.

Would be a superb 2/3 year signing.

Unfortunately, if he continues his good form at Hibs this season, he'll likely to get better offers elsewhere.

Hopefully, he'll enjoy his time here and want to stay.

His father is Scottish so would presume he does.

However, I assume he will be off at the end of the season.

He was captain of a side in the English championship
has World Cup finals experience, and is a current internationalist.

He was released by Hull as he was one of the top earners there.

I think our current deal suits both parties, and from Irvine’s point of view allows to put himself back ‘in the shop window’, and I’m pretty sure he will get offers for next season that dwarf what Hibs will be able to pay.

Fingers crossed that I’m wrong.

Would rather we offered Jackson a contract then build the big screen 😂😁

Thanks for this, but why has he hadn’t had a club before he signed for Hibs

If Scott Allan can get to the point where he’s fit enough to start games, then him playing with those two gets my vote.

I draw the line there. Big screen has to be the priority.

Another very good performance from Jackson.

Hes solid, doesn’t give the opposition a minute on the ball, good in the air, box to box and also has quality on the ball.

If Scott Allan played that ball for the goal everyone would be waxing lyrical. Great vision and even better execution.

Really looking forward to seeing him, Newell and Allan as a middle 3.

Incredible that he’s been able to play and contribute so well after being out of the game so long. Can only bode well for when he’s had a run of games under his belt. I feel it’s unlikely he’ll be here after the summer but delighted we’ve got him for the league run in.

My favourite thing about the turn and pass yesterday is that he rode the tackle that was easily a free kick if he had went down.

Agreed... sell as many as we need to to keep him lol!

But seriously.... having seen the wages that we have given some our past favourites, i think we should be looking to lock him into a decent contract for at least a couple of years.....

This dude is starting to look like a very, very good signing.

His strength, runs, runs off the ball and passing is superb.

The fact he's still not up to full match playing fitness yet is a sign of just how good he is.

Didn't know much about him before, but I'm glad he's a Hibernian player now. Excellent!

If either Porto or Nisbet do leave I'd be chucking every penny at keeping Jackson.

Pretty sure he'll be gone by the summer though.

That's getting on for quite a few January transfer windows in a row that we've done good business of one description or another.
