Big win today, we didn’t play well, but won comfortably at a tricky venue. The better performances will come as the confidence grows, onwards and upwards.

:agree:

I actually thought we done alright. The football still wasn’t pretty but we were the better team over the 90 mins. It was certainly a much needed win and with other results going our way puts us back in the hunt for 3rd.

Utd pretty poor at the moment but good to get the win. Great to have McGregor in the team and scoring!

I thought we played quite well.

Really important win, brilliant to get the 3 points with Livi and Aberdeen drawing.

I don’t think the pitch helped, but we did what we needed to do. The way Celtic are going we might have a chance of 2nd.

I was also thinking we did well and still had plenty on the bench if required. That looks good going forward depending on who is till here after Monday. Wasn't a great game, but a very important win and those games do build confidence.

It wasn't a classic but nothing about that game was set up for us to play well. Crap pitch, 2 teams out of form and low on confidence and a lot of football played recently and to come.

We needed a win, we got a win. It's one of those games that you welcome the 3 points and instantly forget about it. Job done.

The performance of the 2 new players was encouraging and the defence looked a lot more solid today. I'm not sure if McGregor has 3 games in a week in him now but Porteous has a fight on his hands to get his place back if he does.

Definitely.

I’m no one to get carried away but where is the champions league final next season?

Wouldn't say we didn't play well. Created a fair few opportunities, hurt them out wide, and looked solid enough at the back. A few players that maybe still aren't firing on top form, but plenty to be pleased about.

I thought we might see a reaction from Dundee Utd and that we would struggle.

This is a positive result at a good time to get one - with Livi and Aberdeen playing each other.

Well done hibs.

Let's follow it up with another good win - against Goodwin (!)

With Livl and Dons drawing and celtic getting humped, it's great to get back to winning ways.

It’s a huge win, the players and manager deserve great credit.

We were at risk of turning a few bad results into a proper slump and it can be hard when goals dry up for you.

Good character and it didn’t really matter how it was earned.

I’ve doubted this team and been critical of late but I’m delighted tonight.

One thing I have said is that I thought it might need us to drop a few big figures to get a team with a better blend. That team got a result without Newell, Porteous, Nisbet and Allan. I’m not suggesting that we play the team we played today every week, but we have been carrying a few players we might consider indispensable but who haven’t been cutting it. Cadden, Irvine and McGregor are currently looking like our most important players.

It’ll be interesting to see where team selections go from here, and whether or not there will be arrivals or departures, but today was a good day and a huge result, edpeciss as lily given what went on with the teams around us.

Today we played the team with currently the worst form in the league, so anything other than a win was unacceptable.

Thankfully we got that, on a difficult pitch, and some of our more recent signings looked very promising (esp' Cadden and Irvine).

It's only one game but hopefully it'll give the players the confidence they need and we can kick on from here.

Worst case scenario if we don’t get to the final you’ll have a free house for a few days at least, sure she’ll love Russia as well.

God win and important 3 points.

Would love to know where our home and away results this season rank against previous seasons. Expect our home record to be the worst since Butcher days.

We're often the bounce-back game for clubs who can't score, defend or win, so puts today's win in context

Big big win and important 3 points today which we need to take confidence from.

The board is surprisingly quiet tonight after winning....

St Mirren and Aberdeen are another 2 huge games though and if we manage to get at least 4 points we’ll be in a good position.

2 wins out of 3, only 1 goal conceded. 5th in the form table in the last 6 games.

Not sure what the dealio is?

Much needed win to get some confidence back in the team, sets us up well for Tuesday night against a St Mirren team also his in confidence. Hopefully they are physically and emotionally drained after their win at Parkhead. Will be another difficult game, been impressed with Jim Goodwin, much as I hated him as a player he seems to be a manager with a bright future, wouldn’t be against him managing hibs at some point in the future should Jack Ross ever move on.
