Some fabulous pictures and fascinating to see an image of the old east stand from 1900. I wonder what the rest of the ground looked like?

I love the 1968 Boy Band photo.

Ringo Starr seems to have gone AWOL.

It is. Sheila Hart - she wrote the words to the A side (Hibernian, Give us a Goal) B side “Turnbulls Tornadoes” - put to the old tune of “Skewball” - both still sung today "Goals goals goals goals that's the Hibees' aim" “Hibs Hibs Hibs for the Cup”

Brilliant !

Peter Marinello was my 'hero' when I was a wee boy. I remember my Dad took me to see him play for Arsenal at Highbury when we were down in London on a holiday.
They were playing Liverpool and Peter Cormack was playing for Liverpool.
When the Liverpool team were coming off their coach my Dad shouted 'Peter' and he immediately looked over and smiled when he heard the accent.
My Dad then managed to get us into where the Arsenal players came out and we spoke to Peter Marinello and he signed my programme which I have to this day. (Somewhere)
I remember he was wearing a black velvet suit and he was driven away from Highbury in a Ford Capri like a real superstar ! :tee hee:

I never forgave him for playing for the lesser team. :tsk tsk:

My Dad was also friends with Tommy Preston and I remember him coming to my house and giving me a huge book which was an encyclopedia of football.

Great photos and great memories.

Excellent photos.

You wonder how much those Adidas Hibernian bags and Hibs Edinburgh tracksuits would fetch nowadays, if any exist.

I particularly like the last photo.

ER was and is fantastic with a big crowd but more often than not that vast terrace was half empty.

In the singing photo who is that sitting angelic - like on Mrs Hart's right ?

The Hibs song picture is great. Who's conducting the choir, and who's to the left of Pat Stanton?

Goalie Jim Herriot to the left of Pat.
Conductor/arranger - Johnny Keating - well respected in music circles back in the day

Jim Herriot! So it is. Thanks for that. In that photo he looks weirdly like Craig Paterson from 25 years later..

Anyway, thanks again.

Regarding Tommy Preston and the Hibs team circa 1959 I was 12 years of age at the time when Hibs travelled to Italy to play Roma in the fairs cup I was on the flight with my Mum and Dad Edinburgh airport was out of commission so we flew from east fortune wonderful experience for a young lad to meet all my hero’s and have them autograph a football for me was the iceing on the cake. We were due to watch the match which finished 3-3 but missed out due to a thunder and lighting storm no cover in those days seems like yesterday guys.

Great to see those old Hibs pics.
Back in 1965 I was working as an apprentice screen printer with a printing firm on Forth Street. The club got in touch, wanting us to print 'Hibernian F.C.' on their new Addidas travel bags for their upcoming tour of North America/Canada. Because I was a Hibee, the boss gave me the task of printing them.
There would have been around 20+ bags, and no extras, so I wasn't able to take one home with me as a souvenir :(

Didn't the Hibs players look so cool as they were about to depart for Yugoslavia. Must have been a regular sight back then though. The glory days [emoji4]

Quite agree about Davie. Down on holiday in London in early 60s-Arsenal v Leicester Baker and Mcleod with Arsenal and Gibson with Leicester-it was just like old times.

Just banking I'd presume. Theres a picture of the main stand on its opening (1924) taken from the Dunbar end and whilst there is a perimeter wall theres no terracing, not even sleepers just a dirt slope by the looks of it.
