I gave away hundreds of books, CDs and DVDs to a second hand shop about 10 years ago. I have one set of shelves in the study with a few atlases, art books and other illustrated books, it's all been replaced by my kindle, napster and Netflix.

My sex toys are all in the cellar/dungeon.

Had a quick check. Some pine cones, a model of a Montreal Canadiens ice hockey player and a Smash Hits annual. Also about a hundred psychology textbooks and several bulging files of academic papers in various stages of disarray.

Nearly all of the sex toys have been rented out for the night.

Bill Brysons books, his writing style just works for me and he can make the most boring topic genuinely interesting.

I hang my sex toys on the wall like a sword collection.

Top of the case; 1/43 scale model of the 1966 Batmobile.

Top shelf; "The Scottish Football Book" collection 1-27. A few natural history books.

Middle shelf; About 50 Hibs books and annuals and a handful of other football books.

Bottom shelf; Mainly books on Leith and Edinburgh including transport interest.

None of the above have ever been used as a sex toy. To my knowledge.

Severely under rated thread.

I use the top shelf for hardcore Union Jack related pics. Trooping of the Colours, Windsor Castle, the Scotland Office...that sort of thing.

3rd shelf is a complete collection of various reports on constitutional economics. But I only keep the ones funded by UK Govt, MI5 and JK Rowling there.

2nd shelf is a collection of actual flags, obv.

Bottom shelf is remaindered copies of 'The Dream Shall Never Die', I use pages from those to start the fire in the morning.

What's sex?

Cracking idea for a Fred:

I'm not high enough on the "Agenda for Change" scale to be afforded my own office within NHS Lothian but in our spare room, which my husband and I use as an office, the following books are on view for all who have the misfortune to see my ugly/my husbands stunning mug during Zoom meetings:

Grundrisse: Karl Marx
Joint Formulary Committee (2020) British National Formulary.
Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers - Grant Naylor
Better Than Life - Grant Naylor
Backwards - Rob Grant
Popcorn - Ben Elton
The Lenin Anthology - Robert Tucker
The Labour Story- Emmanuel Shinwell
Perfect Victim - Colleen Stan
12 Rules for Life - Jordan Peterson
Map of Meaning - Jordan Peterson
The Courage of Hopelessness: Chronicles of a Year of Acting Dangerously - Slavoj Zizek

PLUS MANY OTHERS AS THE ****ING CAMERA IS STRATGICALLY POSITIONED FOR TOMORROW MORNING!! Cheers James. xx

On that note, please give me a break for the above smart-ersed-ness; my husband is a lecturer in Social Sciences and has to teach spotty kids over the internet, whereas it is not hard to find out what I do for a living so it'll be patently obvious I'm not trying to have the worth of boast worlds in the world of biscuits.

I have always felt that one makes a conscious choice to project their ego by through books/furniture [a'la Fatty Blackford totes being Hibs] in Zoom meetings. I have repeatedly told my man how morally remiss it is to purchase books/accouterments with the sole intention of displaying them to students!! :na na:

Sorry for the long-effort-post folx as we have had a good day at work so I'm bouncing off the walls...
