Ross’ post match interview makes it sound like we’re at risk of losing some of our younger players. I have a gut feeling we might lose Doig.

Just said on then transfer thread, there is only 5 days left of the window and we have a game on Saturday, it's getting tight to get any bodies in,or worse replace players.

Jeez, missed that completely.
Wouldnt be surprised if it was Doig and Porteous. If it’s for big money with add-ons then so be it. Selling will help stabilise club’s finances I would think...

Happy to lose in this order
Wright
S mcginn
Hallberg
Gray (loan)
Gullan (loan)
Providing we bring in a CB, someone who can challenge Gogic for his role and another striker.
We need to keep Porteous and Doig.

No idea. Not heard it but they are the only two you would think JR would highlight in this way.

I don’t think being ‘lumbered’ with a player like Mallan is worthy of complaint.

We can afford to lose 4 players without affecting the team or squad.
SDG
S McGinn
The young winger Bartley (? Senior moment)
Dabrowski back out on loan
Would leave us tonight's 20 players plus Murphy, Newell, Mackie and the goalkeeping coach
Add a striker and we are good to go.
Porteous & Doig going nowhere

Oyou would think it would be Porteous and Doig if the reports earlier in the week are true, or maybe Nisbet?

I was surprised when he said it. I thought at first maybe younger players going on loan, but reading this thread and elsewhere Doig has been attracting interest

I'd be very surprised if we sold Doig or Porteous. Doig in particular, the laddie has only played half a season with us on and off. Surely we will want to get some use out of our young talent to strengthen us on the park a bit longer before we sell them on for profit?

depends on the bid and finances
If it is £1million then i reckon we would sell

If we get offered 1-3m for Doig he’ll be gone. We can’t always turn down the opportunity, may not come around again. Similarly for the player himself.
Has to be for good money and add-ons though. Whoever JR was referring to, must be for good money.

If it is £1million then i reckon we would sellI know the current pandemic skews things a bit, but that being said I would value Doig and his impressive learning curve so far at more than £1M considering his age.
I've been so glad to see someone driving forward down that left side, I'd be gutted if we lost him so soon. Will have to wait and see.

If Hickey went for 1.5million - I cant see us even reaching that value

Doig is under contract until 2023, so different circumstances to Hickey.
However, I fear a crumby club like Stoke City or the likes can dangle £500,000 and a sell-on in these straightened times and the club will probably go for it.
He gets stuck in the Under-23s down south and we've lost a really a good asset.
I'd be surprised if the club let Nisbet go unless it was a really good offer - £3m+ but it sounded like JR is expecting a departure.

If Hibs have any ambition, they need to reject offers for Nisbet, Doig and Porteous in the near future. All 3 have long enough contracts and will be worth more if we hold onto them anyway.
If the academy was providing a production line of new talent fair enough, but it's not.

Agreed. We have to keep our young talent unless it is stupid money. The next few days will be interesting.

The club will only sell players that -are down the pecking order or whose contract is in it's last 18 months and the player doesn't want to sign a new deal.
Accordingly no chance the likes of Doig, Porteous or Nisbet are going anywhere this window.

I didn’t take that from the tone of Ross’s point during the interview . It was clear that there is interest in some of our players . I expect one or more of our talents to go this window ...

He also had mentioned that Boyle had had a few things going on off the pitch.
Maybe he’s had interest in him, or his agent hawking around everywhere? Not seen anything more on what might be up with Boyle and I’m merely speculating.

It’s not that.
It’s to di with a family members health. I was surprised he played on Saturday but fair play to him, he was obviously keen to do so.

As for potential out goings.
First and foremost the club needs to survive. We limited income and if selling some players needs to happen then so be it.I am not saying I,m happy with it but its very testing times for all. Unless your a supermarket.

He just doesn't look his usual bright and bubbly self. No wonder if he has problems at home.
