Can anyone point me to information relating to this? Specifically I'm interested in how much has been allocated by Westminster and how much of that and when has then been allocated by Scottish Government.
I have seen some reports claiming that the Scottish Government has held back some of that money for other purposes. I'm not a fan of Sturgeon, the current SNP government or independence but even I have difficulty accepting these claims so I wanted to dig further.
I tried googling it but once you get to page three of the results without finding clear and helpful information it seems a lost cause. My starting point was to disregard any search results located on either UK or Scottish Government websites for obvious reasons. I was hoping to find something from genuinely non-aligned commentators.

Bump.
Really, no-one has anything on this? Surely there's something out there to prove or disprove it?

There's this FOI request. Suspect you may have seen it. Doesn't have the level of detail your after.

I hadn’t realised just how unfair the system was for the SG. It must be very difficult to allocate funds knowing that the UK govt can recall the money at any time creating a financial crisis for Scotland.

The pandemic has been a vivid illustration of how half-arsed the "thinking" behind the devolution settlement is. The Tories are taking health decisions exclusively for England and then tailoring financial support (albeit in a scattergun, haphazard way, but that's just their incompetence) to meet the need created by those health decisions.
In Scotland, we can take health decisions but then must cross our fingers. If the UK wanted devolution to work then the finance from the centre would have to be there to back up the decisions made by the devolved governments. As the furlough extension debacle starkly showed, there is not a moment's consideration.
Of course, this problem is ever present, it's not limited to the pandemic.

Thanks SC. I hadn't seen that but having read it it's simply a series of deliberate evasions and obfuscations. I don't trust anything originating in either Scottish Government or UK government because any statement they make or response they issue is largely written to support a particular political line instead of being objective.

I often get the same feeling from both sides, so it is hard to work out what's actually true.

Excellent, thanks JMS.
This looks decently chewy and a very good starting point. I'll get into this as soon as I can in between trying to actually run a business, dealing with confined belligerent teenagers, managing my mother in her 90s, defending Scottish Labour for not supporting independence, starting couch to 5k today and avoiding the campaign of baleful looks from the dog that wants to be walked all-the-bloody-time.
Actually that reminds me, I need to call the vet to see if she can be spayed.

Totally. I have noticed Connor Matchett, Scotsman is submitting a fair amount of FOI request's. Sort of recall an article about the SG instructing LA's not to release info on some type of funding they were in receipt of. It was quite a few weeks ago, so my account of this may not be accurate, and I'm more than happy to be corrected. Might be worth looking through his twitter page to pick up the article. Apologies in advance if I'm sending you on a wild goose chase due to my poor memory.

Your right. The last thing you need when you take the dog in for a check-up is some randy vet constantly trying to corner you in her consultation room. It's a bloody nuisance.

Still a bit excessive, surely.
Does she vote SNP?

According to Douglas Ross....I know I know before people start.... he claims that the Treasury have provided £175m for small businesses but only £55m had been allocated

I haven't looked at this specific allocation but if it follows previous patterns, what happens is:
- Treasury makes a plan to provide support X to businesses
- Treasury announces plan and rolls out, this is first SG has heard of it
- SG tries to clarify exactly how much and when they'll get it
meanwhile
- Tories immediately scream blue murder that funds are being withheld

You forgot the bit about the Tories in Wales apologising for the gaff, whilst the Scottish Tories run for the hills.

I'm surprised that many still think we can move money around at will. When we asked if we could move some cash from Capital to Revenue due to the coronavirus, we were told to bolt from the UK treasury.

it's almost like Dross likes to run his big mouth but isn't big enough to apologise when he gets his facts wrong(which is often), much like baroness mooth
