500 games for one club in the modern game is a real achievement, it's a big achievement in any era really. Winning a couple of cups in the process is the cherry on top.
I've said it before and I'll say it again LS is up there as one of the Hibs greats. Longevity, a consistent performer over a sustained period and he has accomplished something no other Hibs player ever has. More than that though he seems a more than decent person. His foundation with Paul Hanlon and his general willingness to do the community side of things marks him out.
I think he's well appreciated by most Hibs fans but for others he'll be a you don't know what you've got until it's gone player and person.

I've said it before that when he retires we should rename part or all of HTC the Lewis Stevenson Training Centre. If you want to give any young or new players an example of the dedication, effort, attitude and application required to play for Hibernian Football Club then you can't get a better personification of that than Lewis Stevenson. He's never been the best player in our squad nor the most vocal, but he's never given less than everything he's got, worked hard to improve, always done everything in the best interest of the club, done good for our local community and is now giving Josh Doig and Sean Mackie the best advice on what they need to do to make it at Hibs and you can see his influence in their play.
He's up there with Turnbull, Reilly, Stanton and the other greats of the club for me. Not always in technical ability but in terms of influence and service to the club. We are going to miss him massively when he retires.

I totally agree with all that you and Pretty Boy have said. It is a real shame that the 500th game is not going to be at a packed ER.

He is quite a remarkable young man both on and off the field, 500 games for one team is no mean feat at all.
Your post says it all for me as i just think he is wonderful and hate him being picked on by the mighty keyboard managers on here!
Good luck for the 500th game

Funny that he’d say Lennon. Wasn’t Stevenson one of the players who has been said by some here to have been very critical of Lennon on his lack of instructions and tactics?

He did say they'd had some big fall outs
His pick of the goal at Ibrox is spot on, an absolute cracker and doesnt get the plaudits it deserves.

Tells us what we probably already know in that he's a demanding manager who gets the best from his players on occasion but when it doesn't go his way it all goes to ****.

I doubt Lewis would say Neil Lennon was the best manager he worked with unless he meant it. Lennon did good things with us. Obviously had an impact on a legend like Lewis.

Congratulations to him, that's some achievement in this day and age. A legend at this club and always will be, a shining example of what dedication, effort, a brilliant attitude and at times just sheer guts can do for you. Perhaps Hibs could become the first club in professional football to have a 'determination' coach :greengrin
