Seems to be running right through the club just now

From your captain, to the rest of the team, to your manager, to your sporting director

They all sound and act like robots. No-one overly pissed off at the previous 2 results.

Why do you use the term 'your captain' and 'your manager' in your post.

I'd expect most hibbies to refer to them same as I do, and use the term 'our captain' etc as its our team, our club

Balance is wrong. It's important that strategic decision makers can put emotion to one side but if that emotion and fight isn't there for the players then it's gone too far.

Would be good if they could replace Leanne sometime soon.

Seems lack of leadership at the club.

The recruitment team need to find leaders to get us back on track - young up and coming loan players aren’t going to help unless they are really good and make an instant impact.

The standards should be such at Hibs that anything less that 6 points in back to back home games against Ross County and Livingston is unacceptable. We have fell well short of that and I’d like to think there is anger at those last two performances internally.
We’ve tended to bounce back from bad results in recent times, but this is threatening to turn into a bad run. And our bad runs can be quite spectacular.

Graeme Mathie is a very similar to Cathro. A laptop guy with no leadership skills.

How is he seriously our Sporting Director. Your not telling me an intelligent ex player could not do his job? I am not saying Goc or Deek but your not telling me that the likes of Ian Murray, Gary Smith or dare i say someone like Michael Stewart do his gig. Someone that actually knows what it takes to become a professional footballer.

Not someone university graduate that is excellent on powerpoint. What do we pay Mathie? 100k a year? Absolute joke that theres loads of ex players overlooked for these types of roles.

By that logic none of the opinion expressed by any of us on here can be taken seriously as none of us has played football in the top flight.

Your getting beat 2 nil. We don’t need a corporate answer when it’s going out on hibs tv. Even a generic backing off hopefully the guys can’t turn around a dismal first half. But to say he can’t comment, ridiculous.

It is important not to be over reactive after three consecutive losses.

What is concerning is the nature of the last two defeats. The title of this thread is appropriate and sums up our two most recent home performances.

There is a real danger of this getting out of hand and spiralling out of control. You only need to look over the road of how the Yams got into decline and it can take years to get out of it.

What is bothering me just now is Dempster’s decision to leave. Let’s face it she was at the root of what was good about Hibs over the last few years and with her leaving there is a risk of the club de-stabalizing.

Not sure what the answer is. In the short term a couple of good victories to get us back on track.

However, we will find out soon if Ross can turn this round. If, not it is over to Ron, not Dempster to make some big calls.

It’s the same old problem with us being too ‘nice’ as a club.

Gray and McGregors contract extensions were ridiculous, Mathie’s promotion just lacks any kind of imagination or foresight and sticking with past favourites like Hanlon and Stevenson isn’t doing anyone any favours.

I think LD going is a good thing and I’m pretty sure Ron saw the need to freshen and liven things up in the boardroom, hence the 4 new faces there.

Hopefully their strategy going forwards is more results driven and less about all the other stuff the club seems keen to be involved with.

Ron has stated many times that he wants us playing in Europe and in semi finals.

As long as JR hits these goals he’ll be safe. If it looks like we’ll miss out on 4th I think he could be in trouble.

Hibs TV get the club's sporting director on to talk during 30 minutes before the match, then again at half time.

Totally agree with your opening post. There should have been an obvious reaction after Wednesday. A bit of grit and determination to prove they’re better than the previous result. More intensity and urgency in their play. You see it in all sports after a team has had a tough defeat. I’m big Jack Ross fan but I find his interviews boring and almost patronising the way he plays everything down. I know he’s not there to entertain in interviews but I always feel we’re not hearing his honest thoughts on the game.

Fair play to you for sticking with this thread also and discussing your original point. Having to explain your use of words and grammar to people after raising a valid point is one of the reasons I done come on here much anymore.

You’re being deliberately awkward here.

You hear it all the time...

”you want your goalie to command his area”

”you want your wingers running at the defence”

’you want your manager to show some emotion”

”you want your strikers to take their chances”

etc etc etc.

His comment that his job is to take the emotion out of the situation and make rational objective recruitment decisions is actually bang on from the POV of a Sporting Director and if he had made them against a background of a comfortable win against Livi you would not give a rats erse.
