Caravans on Portobello promenade

Anyone know what the deal is with these caravans? I go past them when I’m out on a run and never see anyone coming or going. Are people actually living there?

No real reason for the question other than general nosiness.

No idea but there are so many random camper vans and caravans around the city

There are loads around the trinity streets.

There’s a few of them still occupied, the council put abandoned vehicle notices on them a while ago when they tried to open that area up to pedestrians using the new Covid laws.

I believe there’s some loophole with this small piece of land, the council have wanted rid of them for years but haven’t managed it, if they had the power to do so they would have done it by now.
