I believe Budgie played league games against Dennis Law, Kenny Dalglish and Ali Mcoist..so he took on three generations of Scottish strikers.
the Match he played against Dennis Law was for Blackpool in 1971..it was Jimmy Armfields last game for Blackpool and the United side included Best and Charlton as well as Law !

St. Johnstone are the only UK professional league side to have a J in their name.
Alex Harris is the only person to have scored a try at Murrayfield and a goal at Hampden.

It used to be said that St Mirren are the only Scottish professional team whose name does not contain a geographical reference. However, The Rangers could now be added. Queen of the South is debatable. Civil Service Strollers aren't in the SPFL.
In England, the only such team is Arsenal, who dropped "Woolwich" from their name.

What geographic reference did the old Rangers have?
Is Celtic really a geographic term?
It must be a fairly loose interpretation.

Their own website says the same:-
Despite Clyde's highly successful 1966-67 season, European football was denied. The Fairs' Cup had a rule that stipulated only one team from each city could enter. Rangers had that position and Clyde were left thinking what might have been.
