Is Now TV free after buying a box?

Have seen the boxes in shops and thought about getting one but I was sure you had to sign up with a subscription. If they are free to view I might buy one.

I was under the impression you have to buy sport and movie passes but not 100%.

You buy a monthly pass. They have packages for films, sport and entertainment. You don't have to renew if you don't want to
