Different partners for different things me thinks.
Certainly see the Stenny link up as a simple one where we farm our youngsters out whilst having a greater say in how they are utilised.
The US link is probably going to be as much for commercial knowledge as it is for the playing staff.
Will be interesting to see how both develop.
Could the next strategic partnership be with a top class team in one of the big leagues? Would make sense.

Seems a great way to get the youngsters used to playing against men. A lot of promising young players can you great playing within their own age group but cannot cope with the transition to playing with adults.

I'd like us to be the senior team in any future partnerships, don't want loads of youngsters coming on loan to us

The way it reads to me is that we will be the senior club and having these partnerships is part of the career pathway options. With having options like this and the US means we can give good young players different career paths depending on their abilities and career choices.
For example , players may realise at 19/20 they will not make the grade and go onto a college course in the US whilst playing at Charleston or if they were not going to make it at SPFL level may choose to play at Stenhousemuir. If players are coming back from an injury they could go on loan at either club to get game time , or even laterally in their careers they can use clubs like this to develop their coaching skills.
Just a few random ideas of the top of my head but it means if you sign for Hibs there will be more than just a few years playing , you could have an extended career at Hibs. You might not get the big money , but you can have a rewarding part of your life at one club or sister clubs

I’m pleased we take our duty of care to younger players seriously - I really am - but I just wish a few more of them would be so good it’s impossible to leave them out of the first team.

Great news. I spoke to the chairman of stenny a few years back he was keen to do this then, as they had a good relationship with us at the time. I notice The Rangers fans are full of praise about this partnership and would like their club to do the same.
Hopefully the divorce from St Mirren will not be too messy.

1 think that these sort of partnerships are more than simply about players on the pitch.

Are you trying to tell me that football clubs aren't binary and have more to them than just the players who take the park on a Saturday?
