Looks like a game against Dinamo Zagreb in 1960 assume it was a friendly.

The only thing I can see is a Friendly Challenge Match May 1960

Dinamo Zagreb 1 v 1 Hibernian

Bobby Johnstone 75 minutes and Blaic for the hosts 90 minutes

At Easter Road They Play John Campbell

5/19/1960

In the overture to the Cup final, the Maksimir footballers hosted the Scottish Hibernian at home, playing 1-1. The only goal for Zagreb was scored by Dragan Blažić. The Club Management then organized two international friendly matches on the Maximir lawn in just two days. First, on May 17, they hosted English Newcastle United defeating the combined team of the Blues 3-1, while two days later a draw with Hibernian followed. It was also the last appearance of the Blues before the Cup final in which they beat Partizan 3-2 on May 26. Due to the low interest of the Zagreb audience, the Maksimir stands in the matches against Newcastle and Hibernian were almost empty, and the income from tickets was not enough to cover the costs of the guests' stay.

Brilliant

Thanks for posting

Looks a decent attendance

Reminds me of the old days at Easter Road when the old terrace would be rammed then you would be disappointed to read in the EEN that the official match attendance was in fact only 6000 :greengrin

Jonnyboy in his excellent book adds that the match was played in hot conditions and that HIBS were more or less under the cosh for 90 minutes

Now that you know more about it, can I just add what a nice thing that is to have been given.

Is that Jim Easton jumping for the ball? John Baxter in the background.

Great observation if you’ve got that right.
And did we play in white socks very often that era? Not that I can recall from the records or photos.

The white socks were considered trendy. Often worn for floodlit games then.
