I’m loving the 90’s hibs hibstory page on Facebook and today’s post about Tony Rougier brought up some very random questions.........

Did Tony Rougier and Russel Latapy ever play any games together before Rougier left?

Also, did Latapy and Peter Guggi ever play any together before Guggi?

Please don’t ask me what made me think of those questions 😂😂

I had a ‘lazy’ look at a game on google earlier so will dive into that site later on.

The book coming out sounds like it will be interesting, I even though it may bring back some good and bad memories

I put up a clip the other day on another thread Morton v HIBS where Latapy was playing and Rougier came on and scored a decent goal but he played a few games with Latapy over two seasons mostly as sub I would imagine

Tony Rougier - another one who comes under the banner of "Hibs enigma" lol

I remember him taking a corner down at the Dunbar End (i think it was against Airdrie) and he tripped up, knocking the ball a few foot. No one seem to know what had happened until all the Airdrie defenders started to run towards him

He used to run Russell Anderson ragged, when the Dons played him at right back

Just had a quick look Peter Guggi last game 17/10/98 and Russell Latapy first game 24/10/98 never played together

Ah right thanks for letting me know.

I was fairly young at the time and my memories of Guggi were maybe not the most accurate.

I was pretty gutted when it came out he had left but Latapy more than made up for that 😂.

My memories of Rougier were of very much a luxury player. Great when he had the ball but seemed to have absolutely no interest when we lost
possession.

I remember a game at Easter rd against Hearts where he completely ripped them to bits , Can't remember the score but it's left a lasting impression on me

Don’t remember much about Guggi, except for a spectacular long range effort at ER in our season of adventure. Ayr maybe?

Was just looking back at our season that year. When did we sign sauzee it said after latapy. There wasn’t a window as such back then? Can remember sauzee being there at the end of the season when he signed with Alex Marinkov I’m sure, but the league was already pretty much ours to lose.

Was it not Falkirk away at Brockville, they made their debuts?
