I'm doing a bit of research for work about charitable causes the football world is interested in, and so hoping can some suggestions here!

Are you aware of any players who have charities or foundations set up? Like the Hanlon and Stevenson Foundation or Kris Boyd charity.

Not just ones based in Scotland, or by Scottish players, but anywhere in the world.

Cheers in advance!!

Think there was a player at Everton, Lee Carsley I think it might have been, that got dogs abuse as he refused to sign up to some high profile charitable scheme that was high profile at the time. As it turned out he did a lot more for charity and gave a lot more behind the scenes than what was essentially a PR exercise.

Might not have been Carsley but sure there was a BBC documentary at the time he got slated for it.

If I dreamt that then I need to lay off the cheese.

Juan Mata helped set up the Common Goal charity. Porto has just signed up to it.
