Unseen work

Delighted to hear he played well tonight.

Hes more consistent than a lot of fans views on him that’s for sure.

When we first signed he was exactly what we’ve been missing to years and quickly changed to useless and not needed.

Hes a good player for us in that role and does his job well.

Its not pretty but it’s effective.

My MOTM. Battled for absolutely everything and won most of them.
Loved watching him today that is the standard to be expected. Lost count of the number of times he was easily shrugging players off.

Hopefully some more people on this thread and others have seen the light today over this imposter.

He can’t run, cannot control the ball, cannot retain the ball and cannot pass the ball. Ross seems to see him as a protector of our fragile centre half’s. WTF.

He is not.

Gogic is one of the worst players Hibs have signed since Butcher was the manager.

Really concerns me what Ross and our recruitment team saw in this guy.

Not good enough to pull on a Hibs jersey.

Effective if you want to stifle a game and allow the opposition to control possession.

He is what he is but i am glad we are looking to add another midfielder because if we can get someone in there beside newell who can defend but is also comfortable on the ball it will make us a better team.

He’s so much better sitting at the base of a 3 than playing in a 2. When in a 2 he has to wander into positions where he is not comfortable due to the lack of bodies in there. In a 3 he can concentrate on what he does best which is protect the back 4.

Folks in the main don’t like being wrong. Just let Gogic go about his business giving folks some respite from the naysayers and Jambos (sometimes but not always one in the same on here).

We are all Hibs - apart from the muppet jambo interlopers (Son of Haggart excluded from the muppets)

Aren’t football players in the main journeymen anyway?
The average number of clubs a player has is 3.6.
What about Budgie?
Is the number of clubs a player has measure of how good a player is?

He is the only 1 in midfield who can tackle. Yes he isn’t a great player with the ball at his feet but does a great job doing the dirty side of the game

I wonder if the people who are so eager to label some of our current squad "the worst Hibs players ever" even saw the relegation season. Or any Hibs team from 2010-12. Or last season. Or any other Hibs team ever. :dunno:

Gogic did well last night. There is a place for him if he’s left to do what he’s good at.

I saw Newell and Hallberg get stuck in a few times. Not a Gogic fan but he was pretty effective tonight.

Agreed. Think he struggles in a 2 but works well in a 3 with the right players next to him.

His passing is really poor but he just needs told to focus on winning the ball and making simple passes. Let Newell, Allan, Magennis etc focus on building up the play.

Probably just lazy sound bites bourn of an internet sound bite culture. It’s like some folks could write tabloid headlines.

Thought his passing was pretty good last night and agree better in 3 than 2.

I thought Gogic had by far & away his best game for us tonight. I loved it when he was hounding Turnbull who was waving his arms about & shouting at the ref. For me the problem is that he's very effective in games where we don't have huge amounts of possession but he's very limited when we have lots of the ball & struggle to be creative. I think it goes a long way to explain the difference between our home & away records. Maybe for home games just get him to target/nullify the power player in the oppo, eg Campbell at Well, Power at Killie etc & give our more creative players, Newell/Murphy/Mallan the space to do some damage.
Anyway, well played Alex, fine performance.

Gogic did well last night. There is a place for him if he’s left to do what he’s good at.

This is where I am with him. There was a clamour for him in the summer as there was a glaring gap for the job that Gogic does. However I don’t think I saw anyone ever wanting him so he could play in a two. It was always with the assumption that he would be in a 3, and much like Bartley there will be games he’s tailor made for and others, where we will be expected to be on the front foot, where he is less needed.

A very good squad player and vital for the harder games, but not good enough all round to play every week.
