Normally for Derby not least a Scottish Cup semi I am usually a nervous wreck for a few days and it’s always at the forefront of my thoughts and struggle to sleep.
Not feeling it with this one and it feels like a friendly.
I hope it’s just this time and natural order will return.

Nah I’ve been up since 4am. More worried this time as we are favourites.

Doesn't feel like a friendly at all. This is the clubs biggest match since May 2016.

It's massive for Hearts too, they know a defeat reinforces that the tide has turned in Edinburgh in a significant way.

If we win this it cements us as the leading club in Edinburgh and goes a long way to righting the wrongs of previous Hampden performances against Hearts.

As far as Hibs games go this is about as big as it gets.

Friendly? You’ve lost your mojo mate. Hopefully when the game starts you’ll get it back.

In all seriousness, we are living in challenging times so it’s understandable.

Only three replies to that suggests some folk think likewise. I’m up to ninety though.

I'm a nervous wreck. Struggled to concentrate all day at work. I want that shower put in their place and I want us in a final.

Strangely I'm the opposite
I normally hate derby day the rational fear of which was confirmed by my first one live last September
But I'm strangely looking forward to this.
What is tempering my optimism is how it turned out on the 2 occasions we played them when our league standings were reversed...they will be SO up for this
I think it hinges on Martin Boyle

Can't say it feels like a friendly but I'm not getting that nervous/excitement feeling I usually get.

The fact I won't be watching it with thousands of people who care about the outcome as much as me is probably playing a part in that. Football is a social activity and watching it with a couple of people who don't really care what happens one way or another detracts from the experience. Everything about the usual Derby day experience is watered down. No pre match build up and no post match dissection to either toast victory or drown sorrows.

Feels very surreal and similarly to the OP I'm not as up for this as much as i would be usually, come kick of time I'm sure I'll be fine. Just the build up has been different which is expected. Maybe just the darker nights getting to me.

"Feels like a friendly" is a good description of how I feel. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about it (and incidentally convinced that we're winning this cup twice in the space of six months) but equally I feel like I'll just shrug it off if we lose.

I’d normally be buzzing with the chance of getting to another final, but I can’t help thinking that winning the Cup at an empty Hampden would be such a heartbreaking contrast to 2016 that it is putting a massive dampener on things. Might start to feel different nearer to kick off, but it all just feels a bit meh at the moment.

Can’t stop thinking about. More nervous than normal & dreamt about the game twice this week.

Couldn't care less if we win the cup in an empty stadium or if it's last season's competition. We're due some serious payback after all those cup final defeats over the 114 years. Winning this one would be a start. To me this semi feels exactly like the last one. I'd be absolutely gutted if they win tomorrow.

Don’t think it feels like a friendly but the difference in threads and traffic on this site compared to what it would normally have been is massive. There would have been thread after thread about it but it’s barely managed to knock other stuff off the top spot. I had a look over the road and it seems similar.

I’m the usual nervous wreck before a derby but hopefully we’ll get a result.

To those who can't get up for it, get watching Time for Heroes and bear in mind that the history books will tell us that Hibs won the Scottish Cup three times in five years and twice in the same year.

We're making history again.

It would be heartbreaking if we broke the hoodoo under such circumstances. As it is, if we come through tomorrow and then win the final, I think it would be quite easy to transpose our emotions from 2016 onto what would be a tremendous achievement.

There's two Scottish Cup finals this season.

If we win both (stop giggling at the back), that would be three wins in five years.

I hate the derbies, just get too wound up about them. And now I can’t even shout at the Jambos.

How many times have we had the upper hand only to blow it.

I think they are going to try and kick lumps out of us, so no change there!

Pretty much the same for me i have to say, no nerves as there may have been if I had been travelling to Hampden tomorrow, but the team have shown huge resilience this year so far, so a tight game but one we will win

It’s definitely different in the fact that there’s not been a scramble for tickets or arranging travel through there, but it will mean the same if we win and feel just as **** if we lose.

Wouldn’t say it feels like a friendly but I get where you’re coming from. The high of winning or the low of losing won’t be nearly as good/bad as it would have been had we been in attendance.

I’m pretty relaxed, what will be will be.

Twice in the same year is impossible amigo. But I’m on board with the sentiment

The high of winning won’t be nearly the same.

But if we lose, it’ll still feel horrendous and we won’t be allowed to forget it. My only real thought is that we can’t lose. We just can’t. Not really thought about it from the point of view that we have a really good opportunity to win the cup.

I feel more nerves for this one than any recent league encounter. Been thinking about it for a couple of weeks. Big pressure for us to win this, fingers crossed the team does the business.

Certainly feels strange, and very different, this will be much the biggest Hibs game I've ever watched on TV, or not been present at in my entire 42 years of supporting the club.

Don't know about that. I've got a bottle of single malt with my name on it if we win. Lose and it's an early night.

This is where I'm at. I'm not expecting that to change until closer to the kick off when I meet some comrades in the pub. Normally I would have been hard to live with this week. Instead I've had to keep reminding myself the game is on. The Mrs is loving lockdown.

70 years of watching my team ( ok the first 2/3 my dad had to tell me what had happened ) but for at least 65 years I know what it means to win , ! Or worse still I know what it means to get beat 😱😢😭😪. Today will be no different ! I’m up been to the loo for at my 3rd of the day every match day ! ! Proclaimers on , Hector comes just before Kick off, my bets on £10 win the Jambos ? ? Yes the **** to win , if we get robbed or score a silly og then I have enough for a couple of drams to kill the pain , When we WIN I’m delighted to part with my cash ,

Come on the cabbage get right into them , oh I love you Hibs ! Make my day !

Judging by the Mrs ticking me off for stomping around the kitchen, it turns out I was bothered in the end.

Now that my rage has subsided to a general anger, despite the obvious disappointment I can confidently say that it would have felt much worse in 'normal' circumstances.

I always felt it was a bit tin pot even playing it considering we binned last season off. this season is a new season and it should have been a blank slate. even winning it would have felt hollow, just my opinion. I'll be honest, I'm not really feeling football much without fans in person.
