Ah, the Ref who wins the award for 'name with the most obvious euphemisms'.

I read somewhere last week that this will be his 9th Derby, of which we’ve won 1.

Yet another dreadful referee who has done us little favours in derbies. Saying that they are pretty much all dreadful, the only one I’d have been happy with would have been Bobby Madden.

The other poster's correct, this will be his 9th derby, our record so far is;

W - 1
D - 3
L - 4

He’s one of the additional assistant referees for the game.

How many have been draws?

How many of them did he not send a Hearts player off when he should have and were retrospectively given reds. Templeton in 1 1draw and Stevenson in 0 0 at the pits. Both reds were in first half of the game. Robbie Replay famously said he would be practicing playing with ten men when told in a previous game Collum would be ref.

If we turn up we won't need to worry about the ref

He will give them 2 pen.

Exactly. What a bunch of defeatist nonsense. All because of the ref.

What if he gave a penalty inside 5 minutes and sent a hibs player off incorrectly? Fairly sure the ref has the chance to have a massive impact on a game regardless of how the team plays. Now I’m not saying that will happen, but all this ‘it doesn’t matter, we turn up then no excuses’ crap is just that. Football is a game of many factors.

He's got a reputation for issuing red cards but they have had 3 derby games where Hearts players have received retrospective red cards, Templeton, Walker and Stevenson, see below. Ok wee Lewis got one at same time as Walker but not sending of their guys in a derby seems to be a habit. You would think the people that select referees would recognise he's not up to the job.

The match wasn't without its drama with Hearts' David Templeton lucky to escape a red card following a swipe at Hibs James McPake. Collum's yellow card endured a busier day, with both sides receiving three yellow cards a piece.

Hearts winger Jamie Walker and Hibs defender Lewis Stevenson have been banned for two matches after a flare-up in Sunday's derby at Tynecastle.

Referee Willie Collum took no action when the pair clashed near the end of a 2-1 Hearts win.

Totally agree a ref has a huge impact on a game especially the major decisions

the way he was giving pens at the weekend , hearts will be chucking themselves to the ground every chance they get.

To be fair they were all penalties and he got the major decisions all correct. What was baffling - and Collum does this with errant consistency - was not sending off McGregor even before the late penalty for persistent fouling on a yellow card.

Hoping he keeps an eye on Halkett who is forever fouling in the box at set pieces and gets away with it.

Unfortunately, that’s probably fairly consistent with our derby record over recent years, not just games Willie Colllum has reffed.
