I'm looking to replace double glazed units and main door in my property.

Looking to replace 4 x standard sized windows (all living room / bedroom size), 2 x small portrait sized bathroom windows and a new upvc main door.

Just wondering if anyone has a rough idea what the cost it might be and also if anyone can recommend a good glazier in the Lothians?

Many thanks.

No idea about the cost, but can recommend Burgh Glazing.

We had Advanced round to quote us today and for 2 half sized bathroom windows, a full sized bedroom window and a new front door (in Hibs green obviously) they wanted £3331.00.

I thought that was pretty good, although there lead time at the moment is January.

Try East Lothian Gkazing. Cocopops who used to be of this parish but not so much is your man.

I’m not on edinburgh for a recommendation however I’ve just replaced 3 windows and a front door at the cost of 2100, one window was a small bathroom and the door was a composite door which is a bit more expensive than the uvpc, windows where also brown outside and white inside so if your going white it might come in cheaper again

I'll second that - East Lothian Glass and Glazing.

Sorted me out with mirrors and windows. Good Hibees too.

we did our 3 bed semi detached right before lockdown in Manchester. kitchen, livingroom, lobby, bathroom, ensuite, 3 bedrooms and front door (we'd done just the patio doors a year before). all double units. in total 9 units (one room has two units) and door.

cost us £3800 from a local independent fitter. he also did the patio doors so we knew the quality. worked on his own and took 5 days.

not local to you but rough idea on price. that wasn't cheapest units by any means either.

I can't comment on cost, but we replaced our aluminium joinery in a more modern house with UPVC double glazed units and LOVE them.

I've used this comparison company a few times over the years. They send someone round to see what you want/need then they ask for tenders for the work.

Once they have them, you get a document detailing the service to be provided and the cost.

It's all guaranteed for 10 years and they help resolve any problems should one arise.

It's pretty much hassle free.

Not quite Lothians, but Mitchell’s Glass from Galashiels did ours a few years ago and they were excellent.
