Cherry on the top of a great career. Buzzing for him. Let’s hope he can add to his medal haul before this crazy year is over!

Who would have believed that he would get a first cap at the age of 30, coming on at left back - arguably, the position where the current Scotland squad is most blessed? Congratulations, Paul Hanlon!

Very few players have deserved a cap more.

I was actually chuffed for Considine as he’s the same but absolutely over the moon for Paul. Did well at left back too after a shaky first few seconds.

I really like the way we've been selecting players recently. Even a call up for the likes of Paul McGinn will open his eyes to where he needs to improve to get a cap, but for Considine, Dykes, Hanlon and others it's fantastic to see on form players who have been doing well in our own top flight get their opportunity. It may even help keep some our top players at our club, if they see that they can get an international call up from Hibs if they do so wish.

I have no doubt Porteous will get his cap soon, same with Kevin Nisbet.

Smart move by Clarke. There were a number of times Greg Taylor was up against a giant at the back post and it caused us lots of problems. Putting Paul on nullified that threat. Well done and congratulations Paul.

Well deserved and long overdue. First cap at 30 just goes to show perseverance pays off. Delighted for him.

Robertson is going to struggle to get back in the team now.

I was thinking earlier that McGinn is a more natural choice for captain than him.

Great for Paul. Well deserved and shows being a one club man is not something that limits a career. I agree with a previous poster that I'm happy for Considine too. Very similar to Hanlon for us and I'm sure The Dons fans feel as happy for him as we all do for Paul

I was delighted to see Paul getting a cap tonight. It wasn’t an easy time to make his debut as the Czechs were really pressing for an equaliser, but I thought he coped with the pressure very well. It’s great that both Paul and Considine have been recognised, and proved that they deserve their call ups. I liked Steve Clarke mentioning at the end that these players should tell their club team mates to be ready - suggesting that others could get a chance if they play well enough.

So pleased for him, been a great servant for Hibs over the years, even if it only turns out to be one cap it's another thing to look back on from a more than decent career. Congratulations Paul :aok:

Congratulations to him, just a pity it was behind closed doors.

Even if it's the only cap that he gets, it's a proud achievement for him and his family and one to tell the grandkids.

I agree with all that but I also think it will help get fans on board. The constant stream of poor lower English division players that we have seen in previous years doesn't get buy in for fans. SJM and Paul Hanlon playing for Scotland with Ryan and Paul McGinn also involved has sparked my interest as much as the results have. I bet Dykes, Considine etc has had the same effect on Dons and Livy fans. I am getting my love back for the national team. Well done to the Hibs players for performing well enough to become part of the set up and to Steve Clarke for picking players based on merit rather than who they play for

Just a couple of notes about last night.

There was a presentation in the dressing room after the game where Paul, Dykes and Considine got their international caps handed over with all the squad and backroom staff applauding.

They get two strips and the team sign one of them.

You only get one Scotland cap, irrespective of whether you play once or a hundred times.

Every day is a school day.

Never knew that, I wonder when the SFA started doing that?

So pleased for Paul Hanlon, he 's been a great servant to Hibs, stuck by us when he had opportunities to go elsewhere, and in my view was very unlucky not to be capped before last night. He's joined a very old and long established group of Hibernians who have represented Scotland.

Think Steve Clark has played a wee blinder here with Paul and considine and any other players not initially in the squad

He knows Covid could hit at any point and he might need to call players up , by giving considine and Hanlon caps he has shown if you turn up you may play rather than just making up the numbers also it send a statement to Scottish players to be ready

I’d imagine considine has gave him something to think about too, played well in those 2 games

He's been told by Clarke to be ready to be called up for the next squad. Would be good to see him become a regular in the squads at least.
