Well had to happen to some big star eventually. Hope health-wise he's back fit and well with no consequences for his longterm wellbeing.

Interesting to see what develops now from a contractual perspective if anything...

The number of players on international duty that are either testing positive for Covid, or having to isolate due to contact with someone who has, makes me seriously question the wisdom of going ahead with international matches just now.

As well as the health dangers to the individuals involved, this is also increasing the risk to domestic football.

Probably the best time for most players to catch it tbh. If it's early doors on International duty it means missing less games for club.

What’s your point Donald?

Have you heard that long term effects of Covid doesn't discriminate in terms of who they debilitate? Try looking it up and seeing the potential for damage to lungs, even in the fit and healthy. Not good.

Lets hope the super fit athletes don't inadvertently pass on to any of the vulnerable though.

Presumably they're in their 30s, fit, slim, and have no underlying health issues, minor or otherwise.

Got quite the reaction from that 😬 I was just pointing out there have been no deaths, wasn’t insinuating anything.

Be patient, it'll be a negative result tomorrow when they re-test but he'll be banned from playing anyway....

Realistically, most players can expect to test positive at some point, all the testing achieves is to control the numbers at any one time.
Which is much the same as what's going on for the rest of us.

Not health wise but your on a football form. The joint best player in the word catching is is quite big news, just like the PM catching to was in the politics world.

People on here dont know who Joe Bloggs, just about everyone will know who Ronaldo is. If something serious was to happen to him or another superstar then maybe people would take more notice as as sad as it may seem, some folk don't give a toss about Joe Bloggs.

My Primary 6 teacher certainly gave a toss. She talked about this Bloggs prick every day 👍

Yeah, casual death chat can sometimes get a reaction.

But no one has said pro footballers are likely to suffer personally from Covid. It’s about protecting higher risk groups.

Has the past six months passed you by?

What it says on the tin is sort of half wrong because COVID19 is the disease whereas SARS-COV2 is the virus said to be causing it

From the article - Christiano Ronaldo has tested positive for Corona virus ......Ronaldo, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star, is assymptomatic and now in isolation."

So - he has tested positive for SARS-COV2 but is not experiencing symptoms. It could well be a false positive which is pretty commonplace.

PS - I claim petty smart arse of the week award
