On top of that, we are delighted to confirm that Paul has agreed terms on a deal that will keep him in Leith until at least the summer of 2021, with the option of a further year.

Is that a typo?

Excellent. Probably the most surprisingly good signing we've made in years

Has been a great signing for us and Important part of our solidity at the start of the season. Fair to say pleasantly surprised with how well it has turned out.

Well done Paul

I hope its success stories like this that helps us sign new players. Look at the likes of the McGinns and McNulty coming to Hibs playing well and getting their first call ups. It looks good for us as a club and it's good for other players to see when deciding whether or not they want to join the club

Completely agree with this. I thought we were getting a very steady, solid enough right back who would be a 6/7 out of 10 most weeks and work hard.

Hes so much more than that and for me the biggest surprise has been how good and comfortable he is on the ball. Some of his passes are vital to how we play and setting up attacks from deep.

Delighted for Paul, he has been solid definsively but has also contributed going forward. He is a much better passer of the ball than I had realised.

Definitely will be a selling point for the club - we've seen McGeouch, McGinn(s), Porteous, Stevenson, Boyle, McNulty, Gogic (and possibly more) break into their national teams while at Hibs.

Been very impressed , a signing that a lot of people including myself thought would maybe be a squad player but he has been Mr Reliable . A deserved call up to the Scotland squad and a contract extension. Well done Paul.

Great news, hopefully he goes on and gets a good few caps. Reward for his hard work and nice words from the manager. Fantastic that he has also signed an extended contract.

Good news and thoroughly well deserved. Been a brilliant performer for us this season. Would love him to be able to top that off with an appearance for his country.

Not good enough if we want to finish 3rd or 4th in the league apparently. Just goes to show it’s worth seeing how a player actually does in the green and white before writing him off.

Well done on both his call up and contract extension. Both thoroughly merited.

Thought he would be a decent signing but he has surpassed that. Great to get him on a new contract and the recruitment and retention this window has been back to the quality we had under Stubbs. Work needs to be done to see where we went wrong in the intervening years.
