The top 4 leagues are part of the Scottish Professional Football League structure.

When an amateur team plays against a professional team, they are playing professional sport.

Is the lowland league allowed to continue?

Just waiting on some clarity on whether the lowland league will be allowed to start. Kelty and Brora have commitments in the Betfred Cup.

The lowland and highland league are represented on the professional game board, and the players mostly are on professional contracts. They are all licensed members of the SFA.

The EOSFL is represented on the non professional game board, but again many of the players are on professional contracts and they are largely in the top league licensed members of the SFA.

So a fishmonger from Brora can travel to Easter Rd to play football (just a made up example - ive no idea what half the boys do for living) but a female football team in their top league can't play or even train when keeping to strict guidlines. I will guarantee that Spartans & Hibs Women for example have better guidelines than the majority of Div 1 clubs in this country.

I think it is largely an economic decision. For public health reasons there’s probably no good reason for group participation sports just now to go ahead. Senior football going ahead is to try and ensure they are still viable and will be in the future to support local economies etc.
