Is it 10 days or 14? 10 and he’ll make the game (no sure if he’ll be fit enough of course) but 14 days and he misses it

10 if positive. 14 for those in contact.

This is why they needed clear guidelines in place weeks ago for what happens in each of these scenarios.

5+ players unavailable = postponement
Less than 5 isolating = gam on

Something like that as now it’s going to be chaos anytime Rangers or Celtic players test positive.

Wonder how long he’s had it for, played on Sunday. Does the full 1st team need to self isolate?

10 days from test date or when symptoms first show i think? Will only be able to train in isolation assuming he's feeling ok.

Whilst not really wishing misfortune on any one, I want their three keepers to get it to see what the SPFL do - after all, they made St. Mirren play - old Zlamal is probably cleaning his gloves as we speak

Bring in a free agent for a couple of games? Someone like Rob Elliot.

Will they not have a say on when he can travel back to the UK though?

Don’t know their rules on isolating once you’ve tested positive but presumably he can’t just travel back when he fancies. He’s no an MP after all.

Would that not just apply when he’s part of the Celtic team “bubble”? Which he will no longer be whilst he self isolates in France 🤷*♂️

He will have to isolate where he is yes, if it was the UK it would be 10 days from the on set of symptoms or from the test date. I'd imagine it's the same or close to being the same all over?

I think if you test positive whilst abroad (I know he's French but for the purposes of this, he is abroad as he works in the UK) you need to isolate for the rest of your trip in that country but I'm not sure whether you are able to leave that country on your scheduled departure date.

True, but should he be allowed on a plane when he's tested positive?

Surely that puts all the other passengers, plus crew, at risk.

They have a say on isolating where he currently is. Being tested as part of the Celtic bubble is irrelevant.

1. He will be refused permission to fly by the airline
2. He will be breaking French law if he leaves or has left his isolation.
3. The previous Celtic player who travelled for an overnight bit of rumpy pumpy in Spain failed to quarantine on return from a country where you had to. He was in the Celtic Bubble and got fined by the Police.
4. Watch this space after 2.30pm and the new restrictions to be announced by the FM

I've often wondered what happens if you're on a 10 day holiday and you test positive after day 5. Who picks up the tab if you need to isolate in your hotel and you need to extend your stay for a period of time and rebook your flight home?

Unless they have insurance specifically for that purpose, I'd imagine it would be the holidaymaker themself that would have to pay.

It will depend on your travel insurance but I would suspect the individual is most likely to pick up the tab as they travelled knowing the risks. Soem people with an annual policy taken before mid March might be covered

I absolutely agree if anyone has booked a holiday recently but what happens if your holiday was booked pre-Covid?

No option to cancel without losing all your money and if you pick up the virus over there then that's perhaps a bit different.

If you had booked travel insurance (good) before mid March then I think you would be covered albeit I could see a bit of a battle with the insurer.

I genuinely can't remember an instance of a player testing positive less than 48 hours after playing a match. The incubation period of the virus means he was infected when he played on Thursday against Scotland.

There seems to be a huge amount of football players who have now tested positive. Fortunately I don't think a single one seems to have had anything more than at worst mild symptoms with it (or atleast it's not been reported if they have).

When the Scotland team celebrated the way they (understandably) did after winning on penalties I did think that if one of them has it, they’ll all have it.

I predict that over the next week, post-international and pre-OF game that this becomes the biggest pantomime we’ve experienced yet.

It’s going to be mental.

I think football has to get on with it. There will be times when some teams are disadvantaged and times when it will be in there favour. We suffered with Gogic v Aberdeen. Hopefully it’ll favour us down the line.

I agree.

It’s the nonsense surrounding any OF game, let alone this one, that I object to.

I also question the wisdom of International football taking place right now. I wonder if it might be more trouble than it’s worth.

Although giving exasperated folk something interesting to watch on tv isn’t a bad idea at all.
