Thanks Hibs, can get an early night. Great transfer window. Some class youngsters and solid pros signed. Should be a good season 🤞. GGTTH.

In a vacuum, that's a very good window. Considering the circumstances, it's absolutely unbelievable.
Well done to Hibs, well done to the owner, well done to HSL contributors, well done to season ticket holders, and well done to every single person who has supported the club throughout this horrific year.
Couldn't be more proud to be a Hibee.

What a window that is! Well played, Hibs.
Buzzing for the rest of the season.

No complaints. Onwards and upwards ........... but I would settle for where we are right now. :aok:

Good stuff. Been very critical of our recruitment these last couple of seasons but that's easily our best transfer window in a while. Kudos Hibs.

Great summary from the club [emoji122][emoji122]
Particularly like this paragraph
Adam Jackson, Daryl Horgan and Florian Kamberi left Easter Road for fees that were reinvested back on to the pitch.
Hopefully Tom English and Ewan Murray put a congratulatory tweet out about the trading we’ve done [emoji16]

:rotflmao: I went back and reread the statement as I thought I had missed your last sentence in it. Now that would have been some statement.

Great stuff and genuinely excited to see who gets a start on Wednesday night.

Fantastic window and I struggle to pick my favourite signing. Boyle staying was some bit of business also and it's noticeable that we don't have any loans unless you count Murphy
Great stuff hibs

Incredibly busy summer from Hibs, we’ve now got a smaller squad but made some really good signings.
For me, I do worry a little about cover at centre back but overall very happy.
The criticism from so called sports journalists really is quite disgusting and shows their true colours.

I can cope with us signing cover on loan. Gone are the days when our starting eleven was littered with loan players

I've been very critical of our activity for years, but this summer has been absolutely outstanding.
Top marks to everyone involved for the players they've brought to the club this time, and I'm curious as to why we've managed to succeed this time where we've failed in the past - but also why we looked to have it sorted under Stubbs too. Ron simply loosening the purse strings relative to our competition? The recruitment department having a free run to sign who they want? Jack Ross has an eye for a player? Focus of resources on keeping a smaller squad and a manager happy with that situation? A bit of luck that we managed to attract more of our primary targets this time?
Now, if we could build on our recent good record of improving things even further in January then this could turn out to be an incredible season...

We have signed quality over quantity, that's for sure.
Our team looks really balanced now and I am happy with every single position on the park if we fielded our strongest 11. I think Nisbet, Magennis and Murphy are very high quality/sure hit signings whilst the likes of Gogic, Wright and Paul McGinn (albeit an earlier transfer) are each very shrewd signings. A really clever and targeted blend of recruitment from us - and that was after supposedly "losing out" on a couple of others such as Mcrorie (who, lets face it, also would have been a great signing). Very encouraging looking at the standard of player we have gone for and our signing policy.
All-in, could not have asked for a better window. Club have done their best.

I think there has been a shift in policy.
In recent years the recruitment team have been identifying targets and the managers have accepted this by and large.
Most of our signings in this window have been identified by Jack Ross, with the possible exception of Barnes.

I think that’s a bit simplistic. The recruitment team and the manager will work together on it. The recruitment team will have been just as aware of those Scottish based players as Ross has been.

Yeah, some of the players we've signed might well have been second or third choices, but they're still quality so in the end it doesn't matter.
It's not like we've gone from trying to get Leigh Griffiths to ending up with Rowan Vine.
Or losing Anthony Stokes and signing Daryl Duffy.
I won't pretend I wasn't twitchy at times but in the end I'm really happy with how the squad looks.

A bit simplistic Andy I agree.
However my interpretation of the recruitment team having been to AGMs etc is for them to identify signing targets. To their credit they have came up with the likes of Christian Doidge which has been excellent.
However to me they are wasting their time if they are recommending the likes of Alex Gogic, Kevin Nisbet, Jamie Murphy, Ross McCrorie and especially Kyle Magennis who Jack Ross know all about.

The recruitment team’s job is not just about identifying players. To be frank, a lot of people could do that.
The main bit of their job is conducting business and getting deals across the line - inbound and outbound. This takes a huge amount of work, and there will be agents and others all trying to get a deal that is advantageous to them, not Hibs.
They’ve done a huge amount of work this summer, including trimming the overall size of the squad, including identifying loan opportunities for younger players.

Graeme Mathie explained how recruitment worked in his interview on Longbangers, and a big part of the recruitment team's job is identifying players that meet certain criteria.
The manager will have input into that, but you'd have to think that the likes of Gogic and Nisbet etc would be on the recruitment team's radar every bit as much as they'd be recommended by Jack Ross.
What they can then do is compare with the other names and see who stands out as targets.
In our case, it's clear that we the players we brought in were the stand outs.

Good post jacomo.
If you go back to my first post on the thread I stated that I thought there had been a shift towards the managers choices as opposed to those possibly identified by the recruitment team. I stand by that.
I should have stated though that I wasn't rubbishing the job they were doing, as you correctly point out they have more tasks than identifying players.
