That goal from Malonga is absolutely stunning. The footwork when he gets to the edge of the penalty area is fantastic.

Wow. Great to see again. A reminder of how good a football team Stubbs has put together ..

Aberdeen unbeaten and top of the league at the time too

Electric night and Dom's goal was top class

The Malonga goal is brilliant, but three more half hearted challenges, it's difficult to imagine. If that was our defence, we would have slaughtered them.

Niall McGinn chases him all the way to the penalty box, gives him a little pathetic nudge and just gives up. Logan craps himself, get's turned inside out and then has a poor swipe at the ball that misses by about 3 foot and ends up completely selling himself, and McLean is the worst..he trots alongside the action at half pace, doing nothing, instead of getting goalside and then when Logan get's beat he just runs towards Dom without really making any attempt to stop him or put his body between him and the goal.

If that had been Rangers they would have hacked Dom down well outside the box and been given the foul when Dom fell on one of them.

To be fair I think it was about the 88th minute, so they were probably a bit leggy but I bet Derek McInnes made them watch it again a few times ! :greengrin

You’re ignoring the impact of Dom’s hypnotism. I’m fairly sure he was doing Jedi mind games on the defenders in question. Or he’s been studying 1980s style stage hypnotists like Robert Halpern with a gold watch on a chain.

OooH ! That explains why you can see Considine eating a large onion as if it's an apple straight after full time !

Aaaaaah. John McGinn. Dylan. David Gray. Lovely.

Plus, right now I just like to see anything, any time, that involves beating Aberdeen. They really get on my tits!

Thanks for posting.

I wonder what happened to Robert Halpern, did a quick google and it seems he dissapeared off the face of the earth in about 1991.

I think he died.

He did get done for something with young men IIRC.

There's a guy on Facebook claims he is Halpern's son and that Halpern went to Ireland and then dissapeared. But the guy looks early 20's to me and since Halpern dissapeared in 1991 I think he must be a fruit cake or a wind up merchant.

Dom took 8 touches to go 70% of the pitch and tap it in with his 9th

Brilliant match to have witnessed.

Even better having an away stand full of arrogant Dons fans.

Can't paste or copy I'm afraid but my favourite is the cup relay at ER where we won 4 - 1 with Benjie scoring two crackers and of course Stewart's volley direct from the corner. It's on the same link in the OP.

I remember that game well, big Dom just kept going, you expected someone to tackle him but they couldn’t.

Malonga’s goal is one of those that I’ll remember watching in person like it was last week. I still swoon at that team - I know they got to two cup finals and won the Holy Grail but it’s still incredible that they only finished third.

Like you, it’s a game that’s imprinted on my memory. The first time I took my boy to an evening kick off. Unusually we were in the west. And for some reason the atmosphere seemed cranked up 20% more than usual. A real rites of passage thing.

Mind Richard Gordon regularly took the mick out of King Dom - seemed to lazily decide he was rotten. Cutting through half their team fair shut him up.

He still does the same with Doidge for some reason.....
