This year I've been working hard at eating healthy, balanced meals, but sometimes I just can't be ersed cooking a proper meal from scratch.
However, I struggle to think of good, cook from frozen food so, although I have a small freezer in the garage, it doesn't hold very much in the way of decent convenience ingredients.
Spiced bean burgers are about as Iceland as I get so I thought I'd come here for inspiration.
Any suggestions?

Why not batch cook some curries, chilli’s etc and freeze your own meals. I freeze homemade curries, chillis, cottage pies, chickens & black bean, sweet and sour chicken to name but a few. Also make my own burgers and fish cakes and freeze them.

You can’t beat making home made soup and freezing it

I do freeze meals, and they're handy, but I'm looking for stuff that can go straight into the oven or grill from frozen.

Okay get you, though I cook my homemade dishes from frozen, there is absolutely no need to thaw as long as you reach the core temperature to heat them properly although it does take longer.
Not really a convenience frozen food person though I have tried several different things from Iceland as my Dad used to like them. I always found their Indian & Chinese meal ranges pretty decent for the price you are paying.

I’m not sure it qualifies on the “smart” bit.
Now, if there’s was a “juvenile jokes from people who should know better” thread...

While we're at it, it turns out that my daughter's new dentist is Dr Gastard (I kid you not).
There's a name for a Viz character if ever there was one.

When my kids were small, we used to have a Doctor at East Craigs called Dr Meta
Was always hard to get get kids to go to the Doctors, so used to say “Doctor Meta makes you better”
Not sure what this has to do with Frozen Food, but Matty’s brought this thread to a new low
Youd be as quick throwing a stir fry together with frozen veg, you can buy stir fry packs or choose your individual ones.. Pre cooked chicken breast slices , ready to wok noodles, soy sauce and any other flavours you want to throw in. Tesco do a plum and hoisin ready made sauce but I've not tried it

My boy's Dr is Grimm, Dr Grimm.
Growing up in Bonnyrigg, we had the world famous dentist, D Kay.
It even made That’s Life.
For you youngsters, that was a tv show in the olden days.

I don’t think they’re particularly unhealthy are they? :dunno:

He didn’t say what the ‘piece’ was. If it’s a piece of lettuce rather than a piece of bread then I’m sure it’s fine!
I’m another who regularly uses frozen leftovers, albeit I have to make sure I thaw them as we don’t have a microwave so I heat them up on the hob. I have however found that sweet potato that has been blanched and frozen comes out an absolute treat after 20 minutes in the oven.

Could be wholemeal bread.

We’ve started to eat miles better since we started making huge amounts and freezing lots.
Bolognese works well, soups, stews, chilli...
Quick and easy but also nutritious.

I think fish fingers are one of those items that are produced en masse and put into different boxes.

The guy who had the Marché Noir restaurant in Eyre Place (and is now here https://www.ducks.co.uk/why-ducks/) is Malcolm Duck and his father was called Donald.
So there.

So the cheaper the better by the makings of that! I stand correct but I can't delete the original post because of the absolutely beautiful reply from Hibrandenburg

My mother gets food from cookfood.net. Not at all cheap but they look good, are made with decent ingredients and they taste good. You pay for the convenience though.
