Good win - especially away from home.

Not really much else to say except well done to the team and let's keep this going.

Allan / Hallberg / Mallan / Grey / McGregor / Gullan also giving us more depth.

Really hope we sign another midfielder though as Newell and Gogic won't play every game and against the Old Firm I think we need something slightly different.

Great win, thought this would be a very difficult game but we completely dominated it.

Nisbet is a great addition, offers us so much on and off the ball.

Was it just me or did some St Mirren players look like they enjoyed lockdown a bit too much? Some size :greengrin

Top four should be an absolute certainty this year.

Looking at the table it's certainly looking promising for top 4 and Europe.

But long way to go and instead of playing catch up last year we are getting points on the board early which takes some pressure off.

only saw the last 30 mins so missed all the goals :( great result though, we've won our last 4 games in paisley.

in our last 20 games in paisley our record is...

i've forgiven them for beating us on george best debut for us and refusing our request to switch the game to ER :greengrin

There is a long way to go but the quality in the league is dire. We’d really be under achieving to finish lower than that next year. Decent gap already, I think we’ll be comfortable for Europe this year given there is five places.

His first touch was poor just after he came on. He was then involved about 5 or 6 times after that and lost the ball every time. Just looked like a bad day at the office for him.

FWIW I agree with you.

It's really not a big deal as we're talking about a subby's performance coming on at 3-0 up, but absolutely nothing came off for him.

Like you say, his touch was off and he gave the ball away pretty much every time he got it.

He'll know that he needs to be tidier than that if he's to force his way into the team.

Murphy was tidy all day long. Shanley had a fairly spirited appearance. Gullan wasn't on for long but he didn't really cut it today.

Just my opinion.

Ryan is a clever player, a really good footballer, and has a bit of steel about him too
Missed a chunk last season with an illness, and then an ankle injury
Can play the No 10 or upfront

3 home games and 4 away yet we have 16 points. Pretty good going. If we had won all 3 home games and picked up 7 points on the road by this stage then we would be delighted. Big tests to come against the Old Firm. Not season defining but certainly an indication of where we are at.

Still very early of course but it looks like us and Aberdeen batting for 3rd. We really shouldn't finish below 4th this season.

Don't see us laying a glove on the OF but that's hardly a surprise given the money they've spent this summer.

Only on for a few minutes at the end but I liked the look of young Shanley. Heard his name here and there before but didn't realise he played up front.

Was refilling the cup of tea when he came on so didn't realise and I found myself saying well done Newell a good few times till I realised it was another dark haired player doing the good stuff...

Hopefully see a bit more of him going forwards, good first appearance.

Totally agree. If we are going into the home stretch in the league battling Aberdeen for 3rd then it will be good progress for the squad. Early points in the bag are great for later in the season. Look at Motherwell last season. Finished league poorly but excellent start meant they still got 3rd.

Much better balance to the team today and credit where it’s due, Newell had a much better game, maybe his best match for Hibs to date. Both he and Gogic were more forward thinking in their games, it didn’t always come off but they had intent on going forward. 2 strikers is always better for us, Boyle had a better game, Murphy looked decent. The back 4 were excellent again as was Rocky.
Massive match next week for us all to look forward to. GGTTH

Well worth the £12.50. Great picture started watching away stream crashed after 20 mins. Over to the home stream excellent picture and decent commentary St Mirren guys were fair and complimentary to Hibs.
Good team performance defence solid again. McGinn very good not sure what is contract situ is but deserves couple of years at least.
Was a huge critic of Hanlon but he has rammed my words down my throat, hopefully he continues to.
Midfield did well, Gogic makes a huge difference . Newall was good , Murphy once he is up to speed will be an asset.
Front 2 battled well, Nisbet in the right place at the right for the ball to hit of him and in.
1st time have seen Shanley looks strong up front.
Gullan came on , felt sorry for the laddie everything he touched didnt come off , sure he came on for Nisbet up front then into midfield when Shankley came on
All in all a good a good day for Hibs.

A lot of positives from that performance today. The defence is looking strong and both Doig and McGinn are looking very comfortable going forward. Porteous and Hanlon looked very strong (wtf was Porto doing with the handball). Gogic was strong, competed and worked hard. Newell had a fine match, here's hoping he has as much influence next week, he was very good on the ball today and played well. Murphy showed quality, he moved well and looked to have a bit of quality about him. Nisbet looked sharp on his return.

Good to see younger players getting a chance late on too, it bodes well for the future.

Watched it last night, it looks like he mistimed his jump and the ball dropped 2-3 feet lower than he expects, he had a good look at the ref and you could see the relief on his face when he realised he got away with it, even the Boyle goal which hits his elbow, got a bit of luck from the ref for a change.

Unfortunately Celtc play St Mirren midweek and then Livvy on the Saturday, barring any shocks they will be 3 points ahead of us and on the same points as the huns come Sunday's kick off, their goal difference is 5 ahead of ours at the moment. Sunday's game is really important for us, the longer we keep up with the bigot twins the better season we will have. I'd take 2 points from our next two games now, but I hope we can get more.
