Wells done BllyHibs and Happy Birthday Hibernian. Not looking bad for 145 years eh.

Still wanting that plaque on the wall, of what was St Mary's Street Halls, maybe for our 150th Anniversary? The Club deserve it.

God Bless the Hibs.

I remember the Centenary Match. Dave Mackay brought English Champions Derby County to Easter Road on a hot summer’s night . Derby won 1-0 the only goal of the game being scored by Bruce Rioch

6 Aug 2025 falls on a Wednesday so it will be a Champions League qualifier.
Malta Hibs would be ideal!

I was there, couldn't remember the score though.

Still got my Centenary tie, everyone in the Musselburgh Hibs SC got one.

Happy Birthday Hibs!

Bit presumptuous to think they'll still exist in 5 years time. 😄

Thank you to Cannon Hannan and Michael Whelahan. Without you there would have been no Hibs and I dread to think what I would be doing on a Saturday if you hadn't made Hibernian. Happy birthday Hibs. Another Scottish cup would be a good birthday present

Derby won 1-0 the only goal of the game being scored by Bruce Rioch Do you think that was played on a weeknight Billy ? I was at the game, can`t remember too much about it, but the reason I asked about a weeknight was that all the Derby players were up at Walkers disco/nightclub after the match which makes me think it was a Saturday. Me and my pals got to meet quite a few of the players - some really big names, including of course Archie Gemmill. Incidentally, Des Bremner used to go to Walkers ( later Fagans) in those days too on a Saturday night, he had a pal called Sean a young Irish guy ( Ha, we were all young) who was on Hibs books at the time, can`t remember his surname and don`t think he ever played for the first team.

My first ever Hibs game. Right down the front wall at the half way line.
And it was a cracking sunny evening.
I remember I got to wear my Hibs strip with no jacket required !

My dad recalls the game was crap though !

I can't imagine when our founding fathers formed a team from members of the CYMS they could have envisaged that we would be closing in on the 150th anniversary of Hibernian as a club. Given the hostility faced in our formative years they may regard it as a miracle.

I know there are more pressing matters to attend to at the momebt but as and when it becomes possible we should be planning for a 150th birthday celebration to remember. Hibs have a wonderful history and a present to be proud of and we should be looking to show that off. As a club we mean so much to so many people and a year of celebration to pay homage to our past and look to the future is a must.
