If it was career-threatening, I'd understand the concern. We Had Boyle, Porteous, Mallan & Newell out for months last season, there was no tears on the Dons forum. Players get injured, it's part & parcel.

A 23 year old footballer who plays for one of our biggest rivals is out injured for a few months whilst continuing on full pay, are we supposed to feel sorry for him?

He's got a knee injury that he'll most probably make a full recovery from by the end of the year, in the meantime one of our biggest rivals are deprived of the services of their top goalscorer, I'm personally delighted.

He plays a contact sport, injuries are part and parcel of the game. He's hardly been diagnosed with a terminal illness.

He was injured in a friendly against Hibs helping both teams prepare for a season in very unusual circumstances during a global pandemic. It looks like he and Aberdeen had hoped he would get a decent move soon. I think a little sympathy is no bad thing.

They’ve said they’re doing 1 in 1 out so whilst injured they won’t be able to replace him as nobody will take an injured player. Believe it or not it's actually 6 top 4 finishes in the top flight in 42 years. Although a slightly better stat is that we've finished top 4 on 5 occasions in the past 20 years with 3 of them in the Championship so 5 top 4 finishes out of a possible 17 in the top flight.

Still not great though and we've finished in the bottom 6 8 times (including last season) during the same period.
