A leader and someone that thrives on duels with opposition players (top of the premiership chart last season). My kind of player.

Hopefully the missing jigsaw that improves and protects the defence and drives the team on in front of him.

He wasn't the same player after someone broke his jaw on George St., but you saw the difference a player like that can make when Gary Deegan came in to us in 2012/2013. Gubbed 3-0 by Dundee United going on seven in the first game then went on a run that took us top of the league after that. All the creative players had that extra half second to be creative and the defence had that little bit extra cover.

As long as he can pass the ball to the ball players next to him in the midfield then thats not that bad. No one is expecting 40 yard diagonals from him. Just keep it simple on the ball and sweep up any danger.

Unseen work
10-07-2020, 06:09 PM
Absolutley delighted.

The good thing is someone with Gogic is he knows exactly what he is good at, there are no delusions in his head that he is a creative player or a goalscorer.

He is a team player and knows his role inside out, he will win it back time and time again and give it to our better players.

Mallan and Allan will love playing alongside this guy and he will compliment their game massively.

The defence will be delighted at finally getting some protection too!

It’s been a while since we’ve had someone the opposition would hate playing against, and he is one of those.

Holding midfield last season where he was excellent according to many. Before last season he was centre back and pretty average/dodgy there apparently.

He was absolutely immense in a game at home to Rangers last season when he moved into central defence after Accies had a guy sent off in the first half. Obviously, they wilted late on and Rangers got the win, but he was a stand out on the telly that day.
A spoiler in midfield and a useful back three option...
I wouldn’t necessarily play him in games where we are likely to have the bulk of possession but it seems like a sensible bit of business.

Only thing for me is that playing that role for Hamilton probably comes with different expectations to what we have. Hamilton don’t dominate the ball, we do most of the time at ER. We’re really reliant on him to get it moving quickly. McGeough was the best at doing that. Different type of defensive midfielder but being able to pass the ball ten yards isn’t always as simple as it seems.

I’m happy we’ve signed him in the sense that it was so bloody obvious we needed to fill that position one way or another.

Good thing is all 3 signings know the Scottish set up.

Also Gogic is going to be a new fans favourite - I can see it already.

Actually think a longer than 2 year deal is needed. He’s 26 and plenty footy ahead of him.

Been a good day - expecting some movement out but least we Are getting players in who can get used to team mates etc.

Looked very poor when he played at Centre Back for Hamilton but a revelation as a Midfield destroyer last season.
He is no great shakes as a footballer but he can't half stop talented opposition midfielders. Gives them no time, peace or space to do their thing. An all action pest. Just what we needed.

Why not the Matty Bartley role?

Happy if he can do either.

Ideally he loses the shaved head and develops a 'Wild man of Borneo' straggly hairstyle, along with facial hair that suggests five-six days growth.

That and a pervading whiff of last night's drinking session on the breath, and a death stare for any opposition ****er who thinks thay can try and play the ball through midfield.

Accompanied by a firm but fair tackle, by which I obviously mean the reducer.
