Now it's hopefully all over, it would be funny if we were one of the 16 :greengrin

If I was a mischievous PR employee of Hearts I would release a statement thanking Hibs for their support. All hell would break loose on here 😁

Let Keekback work it out for themselves. They are talking about an FOI request They want the clubs who voted against to be outed in a McCoist type of way so they can deny them the Maroon Pound. 😂

Deans says that how each club "voted" should be made public as he can't believe there were only 16 'yes's - he expected arund 30.

He's basically accusing Doncaster & the SPFL board of lying.

Hardly promoting peace, love & unity is he?

Hearts latest statement....

"We would like the thank the fifteen clubs that supported us by backing the reorganization proposal.

We will now demonstrate our gratitude by taking you all to court for every penny you've got."

Six of them are easy.

Hearts, Partick and Stranraer voted yes to promote themselves back into the division they had just been relegated from.

Inverness, Falkirk and Edinburgh City voted yes to promote themselves into a division that they hadn't yet qualified for.

So out of thirty six clubs, only ten (just over a quarter) voted for 14-10-10-10 without having any immediate self interest in doing so.

Deans is just a punter spraffing like the rest of us. Albeit one slightly more deluded than others.

Nail on the head there. The lack of support from the teams who had nothing to gain says it all. If you weren’t one of the few clubs gaining, you were most definitely losing.

Still though, it’s the famous we’re talking about. How could we possibly not have them in the top league. Gorgie rules, God Save The Queen, hello hello etc.

If they contact the SPFL with an FOI request, they'll get an FOI response. "F*** off idiot!"

Was there an actual vote or was it just a sounding out by Doncaster ? If more than two SPL clubs indicated no then the game was up.

Like Leslie Deans, I’m surprised they didn’t get more support. I thought more clubs would vote in favour, in the full knowledge it would fail anyway but they could claim they were showing solidarity with Hearts.

I guess most clubs didn’t care to give even the appearance of supporting Budge. It’s pretty humiliating for her.

I'm guessing Dundee voted yes so they didn't have to fight Hearts and ICT for promotion next season. Hamilton, St Mirren and Livingston - better chance of avoiding relegation. So we're down to 6.

One of them probably starts it by saying I wonder how many clubs abstained. Then another comes along and says, what if 12 did then that means there were 16 said yes and only 14 said no. Then another says, that would be scandalous, the yes votes actually won. Then this guy comes along and says it is a fact and they all fall into line and start squealing themselves into a frenzy.

In reality, it doesn't matter because there weren't enough votes. Don't think they do reality though.

There was no vote, clubs were asked to give their thoughts to see if it was worth going to a vote. Never got past the SPL. A lot of the smaller clubs didn’t want Brora promoted🤒

How did the SPFL arrive at 26-16?

It was an indicative vote, not a formal, binding one iiirc. Abstentions can be taken as not in favour.

Gotcha.

Just looked at their site, and they mention 16 not in favour, but not the 26. That seems to be a media assumption.

Abstentions in this case are taken as being No’s effectively, so wouldn’t matter if every club but the 16 Abstained, it’s still have been a rejection of the plan.

The suggestion is 9 of 12 top flight clubs voted against it.

We know that Livingston and Hamilton votes in favour.

The suggestion is Rangers voted against it. You have to laugh and even warm to the teddy bears. They are a total disgrace but the best bit is the total inconsistency on anything they do. One minute the are aligned almost in bed with Hearts and then the minute the SPFL investigation doesn’t go anywhere or the colts proposal is knocked back they drop the jambos like a stone.

So even if Celtic were the 3rd club to vote for it - they will now see the losers as enemy no 1 given the threats on starting football and carnage this could cause domestically and at European game level.

If you indicated you would support, you were a yes, anything else was against. I know of at least one club who were quite keen on reconstruction but not that version. They abstained.
