We all love football, it can be played by anyone, basically anywhere – all you need is a ball!

That is a reason why the Homeless World Cup uses the beautiful game – through a network of Street Football Partners across 70+ countries – to inspire people who are homeless and socially isolated to change their own lives, by developing teamwork and trust and competing in a world class, international football tournament.

This year, due to Covid-19, we had to cancel our event for the first time. Instead, we will host a Homeless World Cup Day on July 5. Take a seat in our Virtual Stadium to see some classic games from past events, with professional punditry, fun competitions, and insightful debate.

In the meantime, we’d like to hear your opinion on our Goal of the Month competition. Tell us what you think were the best goals!

I attended when it was held in Princes Street Gardens .

Wonderful experience and some great fitba and atmosphere.
Weather was good too, i recall.

We took packed lunches and stayed all day.
My eldest grandson, then about 12, loved it.
He was with Salvesen BC at the time and wanted to join in !!

IIRC i think a Scottish player back then got a contract with a senior club
Maybe Raith Rovers?

Anyway, keep up the good work and good wishes for the future.

There's lots of past games and tournaments on youtube for anyone looking for an extra football fix, unfortunately not as far back as Edinburgh '05 but Glasgow '16 is well represented.

We will also be screening games as live on Homeless World Cup Day with some famous faces supplying the punditry, which we will be announcing very soon!
