For any Duncans looking in here it is;

14 Team Premiership (wont happen but need clarity as to what teams would be in it)

Current Prem including Dundee Utd PLUS ICT and Dundee - 2nd and 3rd in Championship.

16 Team Premiership (again wont happen but again clarity as to which clubs will be in it)

Current Prem including Dundee Utd PLUS ICT, Dundee, Ayr and Arbroath - 2nd, 3rd, fourth and fifth in Championship.

WHY should Hertz get ANY of the spots before these other clubs??

Hertz will have an opportunity to EARN promotion into the Premiership 2021/22 should the end the season (see what I did there) top OR via play off if second.

Sauce - COMMON SENSE AND SPORTING INTEGRITY, simples! What is all the fuss?

Why do ICT get a gimme? They were in a play off place, not automatic promotion.

This is just one reason why Budge’s 14 team proposal doesn’t work.

IF the Prem is to be extended then they were second so would surely get first pick followed by Dundee who were third, no??

As jacomo points out though, ICT and Dundee were effectively in equivalent positions like Ayr, the 4th place team. All were in promotion play off places and could have gained promotion.

The jumbos argument is that there were enough points up for grabs where they could have saved themselves, and that no team should be worse off as a result of the SPFL decision to call the league.

Well their reconstruction proposal for a 14 team SPL with ICT promoted and them staying up, doesn't tick the, 'no team should be worse off' box for Dundee or Ayr.

One reason of many why the jumbos proposal is dead in the water.
