I see Wetherspoons is opening up again!
I feel there is a danger that we forget who the absolute *****bags have revealed their colours during this crisis.
I think such a list should be commenced for reference (someone else can start the good guys list).
I’ll start:
Tim Martin of Wetherspoons for forcing his staff to work on in crowded pubs at the height of the crisis and claiming that nobody had ever caught COVID in a pub.
Richard Branson for suing the NHS for £2million then asking for a tax payer bail out from his tax haven island.

A lot of the heinous *******s/companies are already listed on a thread somewhere.
Wetherspoons won't lose any revenue on the back of this pandemic though - the great British thirst for cheap booze will have folks flooding back in their droves.
That probably sounds quite classist, and it's not intended thusly - there are some great bars out there under the Wetherspoons banner, and offer food and drink at affordable prices. But when you see how they can do this (by not valuing their staff), it'll force some to reconsider using them. But not enough to dent that ****'s annual revenue.

Wetherspoons won't be allowed to open up before any other pubs, surely? Although, I appreciate that their typical model (large buildings, outdoor seating) probably makes it easier for them to reopen while others are struggling with the 'social distancing' rules.

I was speaking to someone the other day and apparently Wetherspoons have done the dirty on one of their incumbent suppliers and will be buying their PPE and such like from elsewhere despite it being available from said supplier. Bear in mind they made it clear to this supplier, who have a contract, that they won't be paying their sizeable outstanding balance anytime soon.

Wetherspoons have announced a list of measures they intend to put in place when opening. Including:
Goggles for staff
Erecting screens at the till and between tables
Hand sanitizers
Staff will hold glasses at the base
Regular health checks on victims...sorry I mean employees
Condiments revert to sachets.
Two cleaners constantly cleaning and sanitizing surfaces in each pub.
It has seemed throughout that Martin doesn't believe the rules apply to him. He's obviously taken advice on how he can steal a march on other pub chains here. I've never been much of a fan of the chain though appreciate it makes drinking/eating out a possiblity for some. Personally, I won't be visiting any of his pubs in the future, even if they're the only ones open. Nor will msny of my friends. They'll be packed though, people have short memories.

Seems as if you've been taken in by click-bait headlines? They're outlinning plans for re-opening when allowed to do so just like every other company will be doing out there...? And TBF to Martin (the annoying tory brexit voting ****er that he is) they seem fairly sensible.

As a large business goes Wetherspoons are one of the better ones out there for this type of bar/retail work. Free meal when onshift, good staff discount, shares in the company and also weekly and yearly bonuses between 17-45% of your pay.
