I don’t think there’s much wrong with his technique, it’s sort of thrown at every defensive midfielder but he’s very capable on the ball as well.
I think his technique is ok Matty but he seems to sometimes be confused as to what to do. He often has a good bit space in front of him but seems reluctant to use it. He hesitates then when he decides to go the space is closed & he gives the ball away. I'm very happy with him but paradoxically I think it's actually his own lack of belief in his technique that causes him problems.

We have. We’ve rarely went through a 90 minutes without changing shape as well. Ross has spoken about how the likes of McGinn let us flip from a back three to back four without making any subs.

Ross County FC can announce the signing of midfielder Charlie Lakin on loan from Championship side Birmingham City. The midfielder joins having been at Birmingham since 2017, and after spending last season on-loan at Stevenage.



21-year-old Lakin, is a box-to-box central midfielder that has shown strength in both attacking and defending areas during his career to date. Lakin made twenty appearances scoring two goals on a successful loan spell at League Two Stevenage last campaign

Vast Majority of those are big improvements. Add in tying Boyle down on a long contract, keeping Porteous and Doidge and introducing Doig to the first team.


Got to applaud the business so far especially when you think we almost got McCrorie too who would have been a fantastic addition.

Ive said it for years i always think we’re at our best when we sign good young talent/players who know the league well and are hungry to improve. We’re doing that this season and so far it’s working very well.

Being treated shockingly as an international footballer who has given a lot to the club and is well respected at the club in a brazen attempt to get him to move on against his will.

We wanted him (again) but will only move under his terms as it’s became very bitter.

For what its worth you might well be right, I think generally athletes in all forms are ambitious as it comes with what they do, for some older players if they’ve lost the appetite for it though then it might well be something they’re happy with. I’d also hate the thought of a player at that stage of their career or with that attitude to end up here, gives me flashbacks to Terry Butcher era

I think transfers between leagues/federations need international clearance from EUFA or FIFA and they are the ones that set the transfer windows so attempts to register the player via the countries federation would be rejected by FIFA if it is attempted outside of the transfer window.

Domestic transfers between clubs where the player is already registered with that countries federation don't need the international clearance so its up to the federation if they allow it but generally they stop these transfers at the same time as the window.

I think the FA allows EFL clubs to get loans from other English clubs for a while after the close of the window normally anyway
