According to Hibs FitbaStats a lad called Eric Paton played a handful of games at the end of the 90s. He was signed from Hutchy Vale.

On the programme he said he was 33. If he played for Hibs in the late 90's he must have been about 13 !!

Also the article said he played for QotS and then Dundee. No mention of Hibs or Clyde.

Must be a different guy.

It was Eric Paton pretty sure of it, QOTS and Dundee is correct, he only had four appearances for Hibs so hardly worth a mention. He was on Hibs books until 1999

I remember him breaking through I’m sure.

Sure we had high hopes for him at one point but never really happened for him.

He was as much a Hibs player as Gordon Ramsay was a Rangers one

Marginally more, actually, as Gordon Ramsay never played a single match for the first team at Hunbrox.

' Allan Cairns, the photographer who took a picture of Ramsay playing for Rangers in September 1985, said the photo was not one of Rangers first team but a side picked to play a testimonial match. A Rangers spokesman said: "Ramsay was a trialist in that testimonial game. He trained with us for a few months after that but then got injured." '

They way he bangs on you'd think he partnered Richard Gough in defence

:agree:

Gordon Ramsay got caught out with his fanciful Rangers claims.

Think folk are being way too harsh on Eric Paton here.

I recall seeing Gordon Ramsay several years ago playing in one of these TV charity games. You can always tell a footballer even long after they've stopped playing. Ramsay looked like he had never kicked a football in his entire life.

He played 4 times for the first team. If it was me, I'd be calling myself a Hibs legend lol.

I don’t think Ramsay was ever actually even a Rangers player. I think Rangers came out and said they had no record of him ever having signed for them and was only ever on trial for a short while.

Ramsay has no need to mention it anyway, he is far more successful and well known than he would have been as a player.
