One of my favourite ever bands. They won an Ivor Novello award for Golden Brown but his best keyboard piece for me was always Get a grip on yourself. Keyboard played as the lead instrument. Brilliant even listening to it today.

Posted Grip on FB today as my wee tribute.

"Just strap on your keyboards and we'll play some rock and roll " 😃

Went to see The Stranglers in Nice post Cornwell and was lucky enough to meet Dave Greenfield and Jean Jacques Burnelle at the airport flying back to London. JJ made a comment about my ex's 'Maryjane' t-shirt and as I had a Hibs t-shirt on informed me they were going to play the wickerman festival...in Shetland as he thought...I did correct him and indeed saw them near Dumfries again that year. DG got a separate flight back , the one we were on. A sad loss and a great shame no farewell tour. RIP Dave Greenfield.
