I was watching a few clips on the above and wondered if anyone has any good clips or memories of hibs players or fans doing this? The obvious one is the fan throwing the ball away from the rangers player (who I think was Darren McGregor) and telling him to F-off

I remember reading a game was that bad in the sixties or seventies the ball was booted into the East a fan grabbed the ball ran up to the very top of Shaws Heights and booted the ball into the Car Park below

The guy got thrown out by the polis but pretty sure HIBS Management agreed and gave him a ST

In a derby, the ball ending up in the old East and a rugby ball getting thrown back in return at the time when there was talk of them moving to Murrayfield

Fairly sure it was someone like Lee Wallace

The guy got thrown out by the polis but pretty sure HIBS Management agreed and gave him a STball went missing (taken😁) v Airdrie in early 60,s losing 0 2.Then v Hearts in their double blowing season my m8&I smuggled game ball out under my coat, was the 0 0 game so only point we got from them that season but that point helped stuff them for title. Unfortunately said m8 is no longer with us but his widow still has the ball, anyone who travelled regularly on the old I.E.C bus will know they guy who i mentioned is.

It would be very tempting if you were Daz, to find the guy and rip the hole out of him.

Found it on “ the worst moaning ever heard at a football match” thread a post by Forza Fred :

The dour relegation battle versus Airdrie early sixties ball gets kicked into the crowd this guy grabs the ball runs up to the topmost point of the old high terracing and throws the ball down the embankment
Gets huckled by the Polis and gets frog marched round the pitch by two Polis to boos and a standing ovation WP Harrower The Chairman at the time said I don’t blame him I would have thrown the ball away as well dropped the charges and gave the guy two Stand tickets for the next game

I thought I was going nuts :greengrin

I'm not sure I agree with the definition of any of these things as 'sh*thousery'.

Being a total thug on the pitch (going by the article linked above) is one thing.

Engaging in 'sh*thousery', to my understanding, is more related to: players diving at every opportunity, spitting, pulling jerseys, verbal wind-ups.... and all the other sneaky things traditionally associated with South American teams but that are now quite common throughout football.

I could be wrong.

By the definition given above then Scott Brown in the unbeatable derby stands out. Went through the back of their big Lithuania striker, made sure he stepped on his calf as he stood up, Hearts player duly retaliated and was sent off. Lovely stuff.

Did a rangers player not get sent off after Stokes' flicked him in the balls? Does that count?

Darren McGregor on the Jack Sparrow looking player in the home leg against the Greek side we put out of Europe.

That was glorious. Proper did a number on him and we scored pretty much straight after did we not?

Oh yes that was a beautiful moment. That **** was swanning around giving it the big man impression all game. Big Daz absolutely clattered him, I was in the West that night and i had a great view of it. He wasn’t saying much after it.

I honestly can't remember if the The Rangers player got sent off but it was a definite red card offense by Stokes.

If anyone deserved to be clattered it was that guy.

He was a total pain in the ar5e; doing sneaky fouls, yapping back at the ref and winding up the Hibs players.

I couldn't remember that bit either, Stokes definitely got away with one there though.

Good shout with the Greek lad, I'm sure he had a covering over his face for the next game.

He destroyed him. I’ve never seen a player ***** it to that extent on the pitch before. He actually looked scared. Brilliant.

Yep: brought him down, committed three or four red card offences in a couple of seconds, and won the free kick.

Absolutely superb.

Oh it’s beautiful.

Didn’t realise we were 2-1 down at the time too - the catalyst that won us the game.

Grabbing the ball off their player at the end was class too. Proper set the tone for the rest of the game.

Ladies and gents of .net.

The winner.

The guy who was looking after the disabled person who ran on to the pitch to confront the ref (Dougal?) after Brebner got sent off for nothing in the derby at half time, was same game big Gaz scored in the last min and the place went mental.

Thanks 😁

And aye, it is better reading in Isa voice from Still Game.

Seem to recall that the guy didn't go anywhere near Daz the rest of the tie, including the 2nd leg

What about Daz’s tackle on Haring at Tiny ?
Hit him like a runaway train and never even got a mention on Sportscene reminded me of Erich Schaedler in its execution
I don’t think we’ve seen him since
Does that count?
