Tommy Wright has quit as St Johnstone manager after seven years in charge, saying he "needed a break".
I suspect that won't help St Johnstone very much. He's done a remarkable job.

Odd time to resign, when having a job is important in such difficult circumstances.

Probably been offered the NI managers job.

Was my first thought too. Will probably help St Johnstone financially not having him on the payroll just now.

Would he screw Saints over in terms of compensation though? Highly doubt it.

Yeah actually I think your right mate. Reckon he would want St Johnstone to get the compensation they deserve if he was leaving for the NI job.

Depends when his current contract is up, if it had any clauses etc I guess

Still had a year/two to go. If he’s a shoe in for NI compensation wouldn’t have been that much a problem, I couldn’t see him shafting them on the sly.

I think they are doing a wee bit of forward championship planning. ;-)

Hearts fans didn’t want him anywhere near the club before. Not good enough for them. They wanted an exotic continental name. I say they should stick with that as it’s working a treat.
