I wonder how many scams are going on just now due to the Covid 19 crisis, individuals rubbing their hands at it all probably taking advantage of the most vulnerable at their most vulnerable. I wonder how many people are putting in dodgy claims to Government for stuff. No real conscience some of them have so they would not be arsed if lambasted only if caught. Times like these bring out the best in a lot of people however there is a rare few it can bring out the very worst in a person.

Anyone know of or have been scammed during past month?

The amount of phishing emails and text I've received at work and everyday life has sky rocketed, averaging one a day at the moment, so much so my work is hounding us daily to be vigilant

I work for one of the biggest companies in the UK and they are **** scared of it just now

Holy criminals !

Think the burglars are praying for the lifting. They're really struggling just now.

I caught a barred shoplifter who thought nobody would recognise him hiding behind a mask.

They would be the size of some TVs these days.

Prey.

I thought an explanation was necessary.

Mind you, I've had a beer so my judgement may be impaired.

Are they praying or rubbing their hands? Is it possible to do both simultaneously?

Not sure if this is the right thread but i seen a comment on twitter about how someone's friend was getting a £10k grant from the government for her small business even though its now busier than ever during the lockdown.

Surely something dodgy about that if her company doesn't need any financial help.

We're a firm of architects and, in terms of cashflow, we're probably better off at this moment in time given that the government are/will be covering a decent chunk of our wage bill (out of 10 staff, 5 are working part time - between 20 & 50% of their normal hours).

It'll be later in the year that it'll hurt when we'll experience the full economic effect of what we're going through.

The £10k grant is for ratepayers. Presumably, the local council will check to see whether the rateable premises are open or not.
